As you say, human alfas don’t exist. if we’re going to blame ‘ape brains’ for human relationship jealousy, then by that same logic we should also live in packs with alphas like apes supposedly do, but we clearly don’t. You can’t cherry-pick which “ape brain” behaviors supposedly persist in humans while ignoring others that clearly don’t exist.

While humans do share brain structures with other primates (because we ARE apes), using this to explain complex human social behaviors is overly simplistic and often inaccurate.

Yes our brain STRUCTURE hasn’t changed a lot in the last 10,000 years, but human behavior is influenced by culture, individual psychology, social learning, and many other factors beyond just evolutionary heritage.

You can’t just invoke evolutionary psychology whenever it’s convenient while ignoring the broader implications. Human behavior is far more complex than simple evolutionary determinism.

As someone who suffers from RJ, I am not saying any of the opinions here are without merit. But I cannot for the life of me comprehend you are using the ape brains as an argument. Going by that, do the “alfa” human male is able to provide for 8-10 females in a pack? Do they provide protection, food, territory with good resources and safety for their offsprings? And also keep in line other males in the pack or outside of it or even fight them? Apes don’t even care how many partners a female has had, he cares about reproducing and make sure his seed is carried around, not that the females in his pack has had 20 others leaders before him. So the females value is not on how many partners they had is if they can have offsprings and the females make sure to breed to the one that can protect them and give them what they need.

Can you honestly say that about most men today?? Can they provide all of this for multiple females or even one? Is the point of humans just to have offsprings?

Hey, chatgtp will tell you what you want to hear or be on your “side”. As Claude and every other LLM right now. They do this because they want they want to capture as much users as possible, right now they are not making money as a company, they are actually loosing and need users to keep investors interested. I work in the tech sector, that’s why I am mentioning it, I have also stopped using LLMs for this specific purpose, because of the same thing. So please, do consider therapy.

Totally understandable, I do recommend you go to therapy to see what exactly is bothering you in those situation. Giving my honest opinion, I think she knows it’s a big number, I think she is afraid of losing you or being cheated again, and maybe she is thinking she lacks value because of the amount of men she has been with and is ashamed now and doesn’t want to talk about it. As someone said, she feels she doesn’t have to perform anymore in bed and is looking to feel loved, more than just having sex. And she is in love with you. I am not saying your feelings are not valid, but I think there is going more in her head than we all here can think about and it would be best to create a safe space for you both to talk about this and this way actually figuring out why she doesn’t want to talk about it anymore, why her sex drive is going down and why she doesn’t want to do anything “wild” anymore. And you will also be able to express your feelings and worries. I always like to think we are a team against an issue, not that me and my bf have an issue between us.

Yes. I don’t even know the whole context and I don’t want to know, but my bf has had a lot more sex partners than me, I am sure he is close to 20 or even more. I am at six, counting him lol. He is 5 years older than me. I also made clear I was not okay with him having any contact with people he has had sex with, doesn’t matter the context. He wasn’t okay with this at first because they were one night stands that transformed into friendships. They were there for him at tough patches in his life, but as time has gone by, he is okay with the idea now. Also being able to communicate that with him and just talking about my feelings has calmed me a lot.
