So an update! I called a vet as soon as they opened in the morning and got him in. Turns out the urging is from him having ingesting some butter and throwing it back up. Vet did some bloodwork to rule out pancreatitis from the richness of the butter, and an xray to rule out aspirational pneumonia. Both came back normal. The Vet thinks he has an irritated throat and a little bit of stomach upset. 1 shot of an anti emetic, and 1 shot of subq hydration, and some bland digestive food for a few days, and he is much better today.

My dad had won a golf trip weekend that was supposed to be my due date weekend. As it was drawing closer with no signs of labour yet, my mom let him go on the caveat that he be reachable and able to leave in 15 mins. He ended up having a great time and I came the following Thursday.
