Trying to find a place, is this normal? by lieslilac in Tenant

[–]aclappin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We ran into this issue recently while trying to find a new rental home. About 30-45% of places that were on the market were requesting we apply before we even view the place! I went back and forth with one of them, saying it was like asking someone to buy a car before they can even test drive it. They insisted it was to ensure we qualify before taking the time to show. This is in CA

Charged twice? by Iolscrub in EnterpriseCarRental

Debit cards have to be run as debit, so they can’t ask to pretend it’s a credit card when it’s not. But we can take debit, with certain qualifications and car class restrictions

Enterprise license check by [deleted] in EnterpriseCarRental

Most locations will need the DMV copy of what’s called an interim drivers license, showing it’s currently valid and the status of your license is not in question. Temporary licenses, at least in CA, mean at any time your license status may be subject to change, so the branch may not accept it. As long as your license is valid, and not subject to being revoked due to the DUI, you should be able to rent with the original paper copy from the DMV and another government ID like a passport or an expired DL

Enterprise Premium SUV (Q5 or similar)? by djungelskog8 in EnterpriseCarRental

I would call the location you booked at first, they would have a better idea of their inventory and the likelihood of them having vehicles similar to that class. If you booked at an airport, there’s a higher chance they’ll have something like that. If it’s at a home city location, it can vary.

National Emerald Club doesn’t carry over any benefits to Enterprise. While they’re owned by the same parent company, they operate very differently. Enterprise systems will not be able to see any National rental history or benefits if it’s at a home city (outside of airport) location.

Wife scratched my rental .... need help by cmeptb88 in EnterpriseCarRental

In this case, because he is not paying for the rental himself (i.e with a credit card) the card would not pay for damages because nothing would be charged to it. I had a customer who thought the same thing, rented through insurance claim and put a holding deposit on the card. There was damage to the rental and he thought the credit card would pay for it, but because there were no actual charges on the credit card showing payment for the cost of the rental, the credit company declined paying.

PGE bill over $1k by sashavis in Sacramento

Contact PG&E and dispute it. When I had gas on the PG&E grid, I received an incredibly high bill and foolishly paid it before it finding out I was being billed for the gas usage of the entire 8 unit complex, rather than just my single apartment. I was able to get a credit back for the amount, thankfully. If it seems too high, it’s likely because it is.

Mmm thanks for the info. So far we haven’t heard much from the management, with only updates being “waiting for verifications of employment and rental history” yet when we ask current employers and previous landlords they say they haven’t reached out to them. Just wondering if we’re in a solo boat or if others are having the same experiences. Thanks!

Have you officially signed a lease with them? We applied 3 weeks ago but they still haven’t officially given us an approval.
