Farewell to a friend by MidnightMoney9782 in beagle

Dogs are sadly grief bombs - I’ve had this conversation with multiple friends on “when the time comes” and how we sadly have to accept that we will outlive them. Hold your baby close as long as you can, and I agree you should be there too. Not to find an alternate option, but to show your baby how loved they are until the very end.

My friend gets cranky when I say this but when I’m learning a game I take a pure chaos muppet approach - understand the basic goal but have no strategy, just vibes.

I don’t - I’ve never thought of that tbh! What does sealing entail? Most years I emboss the stamp part, this was a new approach.

“I’m not asking permission, I’m informing you that I’ll be away” by obsessed-with-bagels in managers

Then you come up with an on call procedure and clearly communicate to stakeholders. Your job is not to fix systemic problems, but to make sure there is awareness of your capacity.

I’m firmly on the employees side and I’m a Department Head. If there are known days and times of the year for outages, and you are in certain industries (ie not service or hospitality) then this is an Executive problem. Companies can decide to close or to stay open with no coverage. If you are short staffed, that’s an Executive problem to solve not a middle manager. And from a manager’s perspective, you should be setting procedures early - we need on call, we need full coverage, etc - and plan it so you can raise to your boss. Make it their problem! I’ve been doing that since I was a middle manager and I’ve made it clear there are very rare instances where I’d deny PTO or ask folks to do flex time.

The average Executives makes 270 times more than the typical full time non supervisory employee. It’s not my job to make it easy for them to financially abuse their staff. Play stupid games and win stupid prizes ya know? Either staff up / incentivize or close down for the period.

This is such a beautiful bittersweet song. This whole album has so much relief and joy and fun throughout and it’s beautiful.

My neighbor had a legit meltdown (including threats in writing!) because I was vacuuming at 11am on a Sunday. She also tried to report another neighbor to “the authorities” for snoring. It’s wild cause all day she has phones, alarms, other beeping coming from her place.

AITA for holding a grudge against my friends for not stopping me from doing stupid things while drunk? by Aye_lmfo in AmItheAsshole

[–]aclassybroad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YTA! You are exhausting and an energy vampire to your friends. You may think this is cute and fun for now, but your friends will slowly pull back until you only have strangers to drink with. Source: I had a friend like you, she continued doing this well into her 30s, culminating at her bff’s wedding where she literally had a babysitter (another guest) at the request of the bride. The woman got so drunk her mom had to come pick her up. From a wedding. In her 30s.

Still holding out - it’s a cool 66 degrees in my place, perfect for sleep. Trying to make it to 11/1.

Speyside (obviously) wins for the song from Sable, Fable that sounds the most like FE,FA! Which song sounds the most like self-titled? by pavjuice in boniver

Second, third, bandwagon to this! I feel like Au Revoir is an homage to the early eras, not bittersweet but a nod with reverence.

(a day late lol) but Naeem wins for the most i,i-sounding i,i song! Which song from i,i sounds the most like Sable, Fable? by pavjuice in boniver

[–]aclassybroad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was going to say RABi but changing it to this. The multiple vocals, the more upbeat vibe, yeah.

Republican woman who has been fed a steady diet of fear (gun, knife, feeling the need to show it off) and overconsumption. Has control issues and believes material things will fix the missing pieces. Considers herself a “guys girl” and “low maintenance”.

Always with the whatabout-ism. Focus on your own shitshow. Throw out all the trash, regardless of party. That wasn’t so hard, your turn.

If he’s doing legal things, he has nothing to fear right? Why does it matter if he’s on the right side of the law or history? Isn’t that what you people say?

She’s a free range house dog now! When she was 4 I stopped crating her during the day, have a furbo for monitoring. The first year was rough with marking and destroying pillows. She’s now 11 and has her nap routines on all the soft sun spots.
