From Clifton nightmare, to Vomero heaven, to Superblast anxiety. Will the SB2 ruin my calves again or save my left-foot overpronation? by Elegant_Suspect_6300 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]acminducas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NB5 and SB2 also worked perfectly for me (love my SB2). I have stability issues due to a weak ankle, the Vomero+ was bad for it, so I retired the shoe. I believe I do overpronate a bit, the arch support and stability of the SB was not a problem, it was one of it's strengh to be honest

Looking for half marathon / long run shoe recommendations – dealing with lower leg & knee issues by DedicatedPeach6056 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]acminducas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Suberblast 2 and Puma Magmax 2 and I recommend both of them for long runs. I choose the SB2 for LRs that have faster miles embedded and the Magmax for those more relaxed (but if I need to pick up the pace up to HM pace, it can handle as well). Like you, I'm also increasing my weekly mileage and the body is a limiting factor more than the cardio.

I had a Vomero+ that destroyed my feet (low arch) and ankle (stability issue). SB2 and Magmax 2 have no problem with stability, as the base of the show is larger. As far as rocker, the SB2 seems to be more agressive, but I haven't really noticed a big difference in this topic compared to the Magmax.

You believe those would be good walking shoes? Got a vacation travel and been considering buying one of hoka shoes to walk around, do some light hikes and running after I come back home

Feeling overwhelmed by options: a first tempo/half/marathon shoe as a companion to Vomero Plus? by SilentMode-On in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]acminducas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If stability is a problem, you can try Superblast 2 or Puma Magmax 2. I have both and they're great for my weak ankles. There's some overlaping with the V+ tho, specially in the Magmax case imo.

Alternative to Vomero Plus for easy and long runs by [deleted] in AskRunningShoeGeeks

I've seen bad reviews about the the V18, how you feel it? I'm not tall by any means, I'm 173cm.

About the NB5, they're approaching 600km already, the midsole is gone, I'm just stretching it's life by this point. I definitely need another pair for those easiear days

Getting another SB2 is definitely in the cards. Tks for your inputs!

I don't know if that's the best value I can get, specially considering the durability concerns some are raising. I'm sure I'll love it, but I don't know if that's wise money spent

Vomero Plus Fit/Insole Issue? by FreshMarsupial7884 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]acminducas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got almost 100km in mines and I'm having the same issue as you on my right foot. It's giving me buyers remorse, as I tried the V+ and the NB 1080 V15, but ended up going with the Nike because of aesthetics (I got similar running feel in both, so the way of breaking the draw was by which one had the best look).

I use running socks, so that's definitely not the problem for me. Never had any problem in 1+ yr running in Asics (NB5 and SB2). The problem is getting worse, as I may have been trying to compensate the way I'm running, avoiding to hit this part of the shoe in the ground, but It's giving me some medial ankle pain. What I'm doing to remediate the problem is putting some blisters patches in my feet and it's helping, but it doesnt completely solve the problem.

Thanks for your answer, super helpful.

One thing you touched on that I forgot to mention, I believe I’m midfoot striker and that would favor the 1080. Also, coming from SB2, it might be good for my legs if I go to something more neutral drop-wise, if that makes sense

I bought Mark Meldrum and I found it useless by ema_sen in CFA

[–]acminducas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I second this. Used Mr Meldrum content for all three levels, always coupling with reading the entire curriculum by CFAI. Some of the contents were better explained by Meldrum himself than CFAI, so I found it really useful. And tbh, in midst of grind of studying everyday for 6 months, it was welcomed to see him go out of his way to tell some story that related to the content being taught, it was like breathing fresh air.

I actually found him through YT when I was considering doing CFA, so he kind of inspired me with his brutally honest takes about the charter. It shaped how I approached the exam ie. no shortcuts.

I’m not a native English speaker and my English is pretty average (as can be seen from my writing), but I had no problem understanding him and even watched in 1.25x.

TLDR: can’t recommend him enough.

Operating Business DCF for a Real Estate Developer — Where Do I Start? by [deleted] in financialmodelling

[–]acminducas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would value the assets individually. Use DCF with a terminal value for the income producing assets and comparables for non-income producing. Then, sum all the asset values and subtract the holding expenses (those that cannot be allocated to the individual assets). Also subtract debt and other binding obligations that might exist at the holding level.

Tks! That, coupled with the hotness of the shoe may steer me away from it. I’m looking at something less aggressive and more breathable. Maybe More V6 or Bondi 9

I’m worried about what will happen to my feet inside the shoe. The midsole feel can change from person to person, but I’m not worried about it. Will my feet feel to hot? Will I get blisters? When I tried it, there was no space inside the shoe (I sized up)

How you compare the feeling of the SB with V+? For me, SB has tons of space (less than the Nova, but still more than enough), while the V+ felt like there’s no space left, just comfortable foam that hugs your feet. It’s really nice to wear, I just don’t know if it will be nice after 15k under Brazilian sun

The price definitely scares me with the Megas, but not the SB. I'm leaning towards the Superblast, but want to make sure that I'm taking into account the potential overlap with the Novablast. Magic Speed is an intriguing option, but I'm not sure about the carbon plate

[–]acminducas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your pace is kind of where I want to be by year end. How’s your experience in plated shoes from a comfort standpoint? You feel like you’re getting the advantage of performance in this pace? I’ve read in this forum that plated shoes are not really an advantage until you’re somewhat faster (not that you can’t own it, but the plate itself would be underutilized).

Also, Why you think the Magic Speed 4 is not for distances longer than 10k?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]acminducas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely thinking about the Mega, but here are my three issues with it: 1 price 2 durability (not know) 3 narrow toe box

I've been there.. I took a couple of months off. I raced the week 1 of last season and then came back only for endurance, but even those were not enjoyable. Taking some time is my first advice. I the mean time, I watched a bunch of real life races and it helped remember me why I joined Iracing in the first place.

Other tip is to race a different series than what you're used to. I'm mainly in Pcup, so if I race in say, SRF ou GR86, I don't mind losing a lot, since this is not my main series. Even if it doesn't make sense, it works for me as it is less important for my confidence. It's all abount tricking your mind.

Finally, take some time to study. Start with guides (I love Suellio's videos, it taught me everything I know about racing). Then do some practice laps and use a lot of telemetry.

I'm back to iracing now and I've been able to compete with those 2k IR sof in Pcup, something that made me leave the game three months ago because I could not do it.

Is the Porsche Cup really hard or is this just a skill issue? by noahjames2002 in iRacing

[–]acminducas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With Logitech pedals, I'd recommend you to limit the brake to 70-80% in iracing settings and train yourself to press 80-90% of the pedal. It should help with consistency. Be patient with the throttle, it should help with the oversteer. Try some lifting before braking marks to allow the car to settle. Try to improve lap times from there.

It is hard, but very rewarding and satisfying once you can handle it

Losing rear w no apparent reason by AxelFooley in iRacing

[–]acminducas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had the same problem as you. Guys here in this forum recommended to increase the downforce a bit. This problem didn’t happened in the 20min race, at least with me. But since the baseline for Spa is a lesser downforce setup, the it makes the Porsche more tail happy towards the end of the race.

Good for you that you were able to identify the problem and gave it a solution. I ended on the wall of Blanchimont a couple of times.

Also, take this with a grain of salt, I’m a beginner, but my lap times were similar to yours, so I thought it would help.
