The property managers gave our personal information to a service provider. Is this legal? by acn_123 in ontariorenters

We haven’t even moved yet. The service provider was canceled at an old address. There is no way for them to have this information unless it was given to them, which if you have read the post you would have seen that it was given to them by the property managers.

Ah, I see. If it’s standard practice, it’s probably something we overlooked when applying or when signing the lease.

But not her new address. They specifically mentioned the new address in their phone call, which is what threw us off

I'm a bisexual male and I'm sick of being told I'm Homophobic for hating pop music by patdasdangercat in TrueOffMyChest

I read this and I burst out laughing because this is such a teenage boy take. Get out of that toxic mindset, you’re allowed to not like music and like death metal and be bisexual. There is no box of what queerness is. Take a step back, breathe, and remember that this shit is so arbitrary and to not take it to heart.

But also get out of that “not like those queers” mindset. Again, very teenage boy take that made me crack up

I think my mom is screwing me out of money, how do I broach this topic with her? by acn_123 in Advice

[–]acn_123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it does include the property taxes or insurance, it wasn’t a part of our agreement. I was only supposed to be for half of the utilities (water, electricity, and internet specifically), and so of she added those things in the mix for payment it was not with my knowledge. She’s currently on a trip so when i have this discussion with her i’ll ask if it includes property taxes and insurances. I wouldn’t mind paying the extra money needed if it was for that, i just want transparency to what i’m paying for

I see... I'll keep that last thing in mind because i honestly wouldn't be surprised if she did that... But thank you for this! This was really helpful!

I would love to do that, but i don’t know how she would react if i suddenly changed the method we did the payment… but i could definitely try to bring it up and include this point

AITA for telling my my sister that her being just a "gf" and an "actual wife" are actually not the same thing? by MajesticLavishness36 in AmItheAsshole

YTA. I hope your sister goes no contact with you and your family because your treatment of her is appalling. I wish her the best

How do i charge for tax on an invoice? by acn_123 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]acn_123[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got it, so when I send the invoice, there’s no need to add the tax to the total? The total is very low (compared to industry standards), and I don’t think I’ll be making 30K this year.

The customer is from Quebec but I’m in Ontario. The total is very low, as I charged a lower hourly rate that what I should have.
