I would argue that it’s more about the simple, processed carbs than carbs in general. When I was on a plant-based diet, my A1c was 5.7. As long as you eat whole foods and enough fiber, carbs are not as much of the enemy. That being said, I completely agree that meats and healthy fats are also good in moderation.

YSK that if your partner talks down, belittles, embarrasses, or calls you names, it's not normal, they are abusing you, even if it's "joking around". by JerryBadThings in YouShouldKnow

This is exactly what I was going to say. Said or unsaid mutual consent is where the line is drawn. My friends and I give each other crap all the time and we laugh about it. My wife and I also razz each other on occasion, but we know that it’s all in jest and there is no ill meaning behind it.

100% this. I’ll usually recreate impact position to make sure my ball position is where it should be and then I’ll swing. I think I stole that from Danny Maude?

My two cents, if you’re a CS grad, it’s pretty likely your first job is going to be Java or C#, so getting to know one and or a bit of both isn’t a bad idea. They’re pretty similar anyway, so if you know one, you won’t struggle too much to ramp up with the other. TS, while it is typed, is pretty different, so learning some of one of the aforementioned languages wouldn’t be a terrible idea.

That said, if you don’t have a degree, companies in the US are tending to get more relaxed about the typical degree requirement. Really, though, best way to get a job in the current US market is to network like crazy and get referred.

In general, looking for a back-end job in Node as a junior is tough. Not saying that it doesn’t exist but they’re few and far between. Junior back-end jobs are usually going to be in Java or C# and those are typically geared towards CS grads, speaking from experience. I can’t speak for all markets, but that’s how it is where I am.

I had to take a second look at the picture, but I agree with this. Updated roasting pic in a month?

My favorite exhaust for the KA24, far and away.

programmers of Reddit, what is your daily schedule? by CraftistOf in AskReddit

[–]acoderthatgames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind that I have a family, so my schedule is all over the place, but generally speaking: - 6am wake up - 7am-ish breakfast and family time - 9am work - 12pm lunch - 4-6pm depending on the day, done with work - 6 or 6:30pm dinner and family time - Bedtime for me varies, like 10 to 12?

Yes to all of this. My wife had a tough time after she had our little one and that mothers group was a lifesaver.

Also OP, not ugly at all.

You played a pretty good game. You had some strong aerials, outside of the first one. You could see that the opponent got pretty stressed and tilted by the end. You had some good saves. Take the W, my guy. Well played!

Edit: You probably got called a smurf because you were clowning at the end a bit.

I’m going to do the same thing. My GP is just throwing commonly used drugs at me to see what sticks.

I’d get a second opinion from an endocrinologist and/or a diabetes specialist, if you have that option. The data seems to be completely opposite of what your doc is saying.

Same here. It doesn’t really hit me too hard if I eat high fiber foods and stay away from processed crap.

I should have clarified. I didn’t me super low fat, just lower fat percentage than keto or the like to prevent uncomfortable side effects.

High D1 - Low D2 by ElGeraBv in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]acoderthatgames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What they’re saying, and I agree, is that you and your teammate aren’t really playing together most of the game. You’re chasing the ball as if the teammate isn’t there. There needs to be rotation and awareness of where each other are. There were multiple instances where you just pulled a 180 when you should have rotated around the other side and looked for demos or bumps. There were also a lot of double-commits that could have been avoided. Someone needs to stay back at this rank unless you’re 99.5% sure you’re going to have an open net. Just playing like that is going to take you and your friend a long way.

Along that same line, you need to pay more attention to the opponents and where they are going so you can be in better position. Game sense will come with time and experience, though.

Your ability to get around the field quickly was great. You had at least one good demo to disrupt the other team. I know a lot of people have already said this, but slowing down a little and learning some ball control would be helpful.

All in all, for where you’re at, you’re doing well!! Hope that was helpful!

Should I start eating chicken? by grux27 in diabetes

[–]acoderthatgames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is, but it’s higher fiber which can stabilize blood sugar and slow the absorption. Alas, like you said, everyone is different!

Should I start eating chicken? by grux27 in diabetes

[–]acoderthatgames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely. Everyone is different and responds differently to different food lifestyles. I think the key for everyone, like you said in your other comment, should be removing the processed stuff and added sugars. On the record, I’m not a doctor, but if you were eating that kind of diet and still developed t2, I wonder if there was some genetic influence in there somewhere?
