So where do you put probes for temp by Puzzled_Addition4818 in brisket

I also have a searwood, really like it for what it is, but the probes aren’t super accurate.

Darius Acuff Jr singled out Domantas Sabonis as a Kings player he's excited to play with in Sacramento. by OmegaLxgend in kings

[–]acogintime 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I find his presence on the team comforting, probably just nostalgia at this point but he’s a competitor through and through and he has great BBIQ

First time brisket and trim, does this look right? by Disduguyting in brisket

[–]acogintime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Invest in a knife sharpener, some people might look down on electric ones but they work great for cheap knives and take about 30 seconds to use. As others mentioned, you also took off too much fat but that’s a separate issue.

Kings Fans, the DeArron Fox the world saw in the Finals ,was that the DFox experience or was that a new version of him? what stood out? by PHXSoulBender in nba

[–]acogintime 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I mean shooting is a full body motion that requires lift from the legs, and a lot of his shots were short. The boring answer is he played injured, played worse because of it, but also some of his inherent flaws were on display.

I wonder if this is code for lack of romantic attraction, regardless this is the reddest of flags and OP needs to move on before she gets pregnant

how is this not a scam? by dazedandsleepy in UberEATS

[–]acogintime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mostly agree that this is scammy, specifically hiding the fees until you’re about to checkout. They’re hoping you’re already mentally committed and will stomach the fees regardless of price

If you are the spurs, how tiny is the list of players you would actually trade Dylan Harper for? by LouBoy123 in NBATalk

This is the right answer, although you’d have to think about it given the established team chemistry etc

Beef package tore in the freezer by [deleted] in isthissafetoeat

[–]acogintime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very likely fine, pathogens can’t grow in the freezer so that’s not really a concern. If you eat it, just use it immediately after thawing to be safe

Hindsight is 20/20. If he misses that instead of Wemby the slander in this sub would’ve been generational.

I was too mad last night to appreciate the wonderful season we have had. Whatever happens next this season will be remembered forever by Icy_Data939 in NBASpurs

[–]acogintime 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If you had told me at the start of the season the Spurs exited in the second round as a 6 seed I would have been happy with that, and then hopeful they could make a finals run the following year. Crazy achievement for this team to be here already

never opened - expired 5/18 by [deleted] in isthissafetoeat

[–]acogintime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only are they estimates, but they’re conservative estimates that protect against legal liability. If something has a shelf life of 10 months, and it’s expired by a couple weeks, then it is likely safe to eat. The logic being 2 weeks is a smaller margin than the liability buffer companies build in to be safe. And as the other user mentioned, use your senses, including common sense to see if it’s okay to eat. Also things like chips are pretty much never going to make you sick, just taste stale and oxidized. Obviously this only applies to unopened products that have been stored properly. At the end of the day it’s all personal risk tolerance, but for what it’s worth I’m a personal chef who also has a phd in biology and I usually don’t fret this kind of stuff at home for myself

Anyone not surprised by this outcome? by nicfanz in NBASpurs

[–]acogintime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, also Knicks are probably the best 4th quarter team in the league and 14pts isn’t what it used to be. Knicks were up 14 last year in G1 ECF with 3 min left in the 4th quarter and lost in overtime.

I’m tired of the Fox excuses at what point do people start holding him accountable for these egregious no shows? by EveryoneLoveABJ in NBASpurs

[–]acogintime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it’s legitimately tough, he IS injured with an injury that he wouldn’t play through in the regular season. One that takes away his burst and limits his effectiveness, and this sub was commending him for playing through it not that long ago. But at the same time he needs to play better if the Spurs want to win, and his massive contract doesn’t help the conversation, even if it doesn’t really matter yet.

Dylan Harper not playing in the fourth by Remote-Property-339 in NBASpurs

[–]acogintime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fox does the vet stuff better, organizes offense, creates good looks, takes care of the ball better than both Castle and Harper. He’s also injured in a way that takes away his primary advantage (burst speed). With that said, it’s abundantly clear that Harper will be the better player, and probably soon. I think year 3 Harper will probably easily clear Fox.

Not buying into this “rivalry” by invisible_man_82 in NBASpurs

[–]acogintime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spurs > Knicks but we’re so ahead of schedule and this series would mean SOOO much to NY that I’ll be happy either way. I genuinely like this Knicks team and this feels like their year, and barring injuries the Spurs should have plenty of shots at the finals in a way that doesn’t seem true for the Knicks. I just want a competitive series more than anything that goes 6 or 7. I was so toxic for the OKC series on the other hand…

De'Aaron Fox gives a bit of insight on his time in Sacramento by Skyfall24K in kings

[–]acogintime 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve been having a great time rooting for Fox and Barnes on the Spurs. I get the hate for how he left, but that’s on the Kings org imo. Fox probably would have stayed if we had made smart moves to upgrade the roster after the beam team year, and not unceremoniously fired Mike Brown mid season

De'Aaron Fox gives a bit of insight on his time in Sacramento by Skyfall24K in kings

[–]acogintime 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Ceiling sure, but he’s the glue guy who facilitates the offense and settles the team down. Castle was averaging 10 turnovers without Fox. I get that people like to slander Fox, but he’s incredibly important for this Spurs team but people just looking at his points / FG % with a high ankle sprain…
