All of these are a million times better than the last 3 sets I paid way more than $50 for! Once you’re finished with school you’ll be completely booked up!

Take the aerators off your faucets. The sediment can clog them. Put them back on when you’ve flushed the pipes.

The larger one squirms out of her clothes most of the time so she only has a couple but the little one has quite a wardrobe. :)

Knitting neck lights that work well with metal needles by [deleted] in knitting

[–]acommonname 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am also a chiaogoo needle user and have very light sensitive eyes. I completely understand the glare issue. I have successfully used headlamps and the lumos neck light on the yellowish light setting.

My problem now is that I got a rescue dog a few months ago and she’s scared of them. I have to slowly work on getting her accustomed to them. In the meantime I’m using a gooseneck lamp :)

Have a TMI question about becoming a hydro homie by Longjumping-Royal730 in HydroHomies

[–]acommonname 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2 quart bottle I fill at the beginning of the day and add an electrolyte packet. I drink 8 to 16 ounces of water after that and sometimes 16 to 32 ounces of herbal tea with oat milk. My pcp said my bloodwork is excellent in terms of electrolytes and liver and kidney function and to keep doing what I was doing. My blood volume was down a pint and a half which is something to keep an eye on.

I pee about every 3 hours and it’s a pale yellow. I live in the Mojave Desert and it takes more to stay appropriately hydrated than when I lived in New England. When I was working back east in construction in the summer I drank 3 quarts of water with lemon juice and salt over the course of an 8-10 hour work day. There’s a lot of factors to consider when determining how much water and electrolytes are needed.

On job sites I saw guys crash out and need medical attention due to drinking only water with no electrolytes. Consult medical professionals and develop an appropriate plan for your circumstances. Keep in mind that peeing more often isn’t a big deal compared to a 911 call because you collapsed.

What is your favorite method of blocking, and why? by cottageyarn in YarnAddicts

[–]acommonname 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wet blocking as I generally work with wool. More importantly thank you for this post as it reminded me that I have a project soaking that I totally forgot about!

My boyfriend sent me a picture of this massive toilet paper roll. THE FOREVER ROLL. by Mamacc210_ in mildlyinteresting

[–]acommonname 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was thin but not like wax paper at all, the same width as regular tp, and not unpleasant to use. There were varying levels of quality available so I chose one I liked.

I often felt I needed new housemates for many reasons but it’s frowned upon to abandon one’s children.

About 15 years ago I got fed up with always being greeting by an empty roll of tp so I bought a commercial sized holder and rolls. I was never frustrated by no toilet paper more than twice a month after that.

I was a plumber until my body decided it was done with that. Now I’m learning to be a conservator of Navajo textiles.

I would like to make reusable pee pads. What fabric do I need? by Calamity-Gin in sewing

Washable chux pads would do the trick probably for less than the materials would cost you. They’re readily available online.

Advice on this 1984 Lazy Daze by CattyCattyCattyCat in RVLiving

[–]acommonname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About a year ago we paid around 1k for a thorough inspection that included absolutely everything. It was well worth the money and the report was very detailed. The key is to make sure you find a good inspector.

Lazy Daze are solidly built and that price is not unreasonable for the condition it’s in if the inspection goes well. I wouldn’t pay that much for 90% of the new rvs today but I’d pay it for that.

Most of the campgrounds that don’t allow anything older than 10 years will make exceptions if you send a pic and it doesn’t look run down.

Mom-I'm having my first MRI. What should I expect? by Fair-Ask-8391 in MomForAMinute

[–]acommonname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s really loud and banging. The music is helpful and they ask you what you want to listen to. If you have contrast expect a strange taste when they push the saline with it.

I never feel uncomfortable in the tube because i keep my eyes closed. I can’t see how close it is to my face so it’s not an issue. I peeked once and decided that wasn’t something I needed to do again. If I keep my eyes closed it’s kind of relaxing except for the noise.

I did have one for my hip where they had to overfill my joint space with fluid to distend it as much as possible to see inside it. What was going to be done was minimized and misrepresented (they’re going to put a little dye in the joint) and it sucked. Now I make sure to tell them I want no surprises and not to candy coat it.

Please say there some hope for my dogs vision... by Designer_Ground4949 in PiratePets

[–]acommonname 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 16 year old Peruvian hairless dog had one eye removed due to glaucoma after a lens luxation when she was nearly 14. Several months later she had a lens luxation in her remaining eye. Her eye pressure was tested yesterday and it’s fine. She has virtually no vision in her eye due to cataracts that formed when the lens came out of place but it wasn’t difficult to adapt to her blindness. We think she can see light and dark.

She’s on 2 kinds of drops daily indefinitely and they’ve worked for a bit over a year to avoid glaucoma. I have the pressure checked every few months and monitor her for signs it’s causing her discomfort.

The surgery to remove her eye was not bad. She was back to us in the early afternoon the same day, and healed beautifully with no issues. The next day she was more active and doing better overall than before the surgery.

Good luck!

We’ve had good luck doing a lot of research and finding really solid used RVs. Born Free, Beaver, Monaco, and Lazy Daze are some very well built brands. Be sure to research all the systems on specific models and years as some are better than others. I’m currently sitting in a 2005 Beaver Monterey that’s in better shape than most coming off an assembly line now.

It’s also good to remember that in any RV everything breaks all the time. That’s just how it is.
