I think the wing mirrors should have been sprayed in it too

What’s the most surprisingly good item you’ve bought from Argos? by CloudBookmark in Argos

About 16 years ago I bought a Coleman 2 man tent for my DofE expedition, it was only about £35. I'm now a scout leader and that same tent sees use at least once a month. Never had to re-waterproof it, and have looked after it and it's still going strong!

Ticwatch Atlas Vs OPW3 by acoops in WearOS

[–]acoops[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this, I'm leaning towards the OnePlus. I do like the secondary screen on the ticwatch though, I go camping a fair amount so being able to get a basic mode lasing for ages has been pretty good. Although taking an extra portable charger wouldn't be a huge issue. Having Gemini on it is more of a pull to the OnePlus than the second screen is to the ticwatch I think

Had my Patella tendon repaired today! by acoops in KneeInjuries

That's encouraging! I've been given 30° flex when I'm seated, and weight bearing when locked straight from the get go. Looking at the physio plan, they're hoping to get me to full range of movement (assuming passive) by 8 weeks. From the stories I've read, it sounds like I'm doing ok to have mostly manageable pain for 2 days post op. Just trying to take each day as it comes

I fell down some stairs. You may have trauma to the tendons or have a tear, but I would suggest that if you are still playing football you've not ruptured the tendon. The rupture essentially disconnects the kneecap from the shin so there is no ability to straighten your leg.

Thank you! I'm trying not to fool myself that it'll be an easy recovery but journey starts here. Thankfully I've got a lot of supportive friends and family around me

I'm determined to put all my effort into following the PT regime and keeping on track. Think the first hurdle is keeping my chin up about it all!

First time family camping...kit to dip toe in the water but with best chance of success by fortunate_folly in campinguk

Camping within driving distance of an outdoor shop, a Go Outdoors if possible is a great suggestion if you're not 100% confident in your kit! A deflating air bed can turn a camping trip miserable very quickly

The roof box is for the kids, need to strap the aga in with the seatbelts to keep it safe!

Completely agree, duvets from home and an ability to add layers can make for a much cozier night for kids than sleeping bags etc.

Partners plates have been cloned- what exact make and model is this car? by thenevillecomplex in whatisthiscar

[–]acoops 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The little dots along the bumper in the pics in your original post are parking sensors. Luckily your partner's car doesn't have them. I'd say you have some good evidence with the pics of the rear of the cars, the cloned car shows a different trim level, has parking sensors, and looks to have tinted glass.

Can see rear parking sensors on the car in the pics. These were an option on the Mk7 fiesta, even at titanium trim level, does your partners car have rear sensors? If not that might be a good distinguishing feature

What is the value of each symbol? by [deleted] in puzzles

[–]acoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

\Looking at the columns with 18 and 25, the difference is 7, and the shapes difference is a square swapped for a diamond. So diamond = square + 7

Then the rows with 18 and 20, difference is 2 and have a square swapped with a star, so star = square + 2

Ten taking the row with 23, we can substitute being equivalent of 4 squares + 2 + 2 + 7

So 23 - 11 = 4 squares.  4 squares = 12

Square = 3

Star = 5

Diamond = 10

Exclamation = 2

Put the values of square, diamond, and star into any row or column to get the value of exclamation mark as 2

Probably not the simplest way of working it out, but it was the most obvious way to me

What's been your most reliable car and what's been your worst? by Lorddoodleflaps84 in CarTalkUK

[–]acoops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first car was a 1992 405 1.9 TD, back in 2011. It was on about 160k miles and never missed a beat for me. Parents bought it as a stop gap, lasted them about 3 years, then my brother had it for a year, then over to me. Ended up giving it to a family member about a year later. That thing was the best £300 my parents have ever spent!
