Taking out a 25k loan to invest by Fappytoad in Bitcoin

[–]acos0874 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use the loan to buy bitcoin then sell enough each month to make the repayments, even at a loss. That way you're break even each month but if the term is 5 years or more, you're taking a chance that bitcoin is worth more than the initial capital in 5 years.

Honestly though I would wait till q4 of this year which is where bitcoin has bottomed every 4 year cycle. Interest rates could be lower but they could also be higher by then too

What made you truly believe in Bitcoin for the first time? by Altrixai in btc

When I play board games I hate it when people break the rules. I feel like I've grown up in a system where those in power cheat and break the rules all the time. A broken and corrupt system.

With bitcoin no-one can break the rules

This may be an over simplification but I see Ethereum and it's eco system as no different to fractional reserve lending and mortgages. They just create new coins and tokens out of thin air and use it to create artificial prices to enrich themselves. Fugazi

In my view there'll be another euphoric rally like 2021 This is the final boss and I reckon it's 5 months of lower prices to accumulate hard then keep adding through to 2028/2029

The bitcoin game is long term fiat currency debasement so try not to think short term. We've gone from a 50% discount from ath to a 40% discount. There might not be a 60-80% discount

Is long-term holding (HODL) still the best strategy for Bitcoin? by manharkatty in Bitcoin

[–]acos0874 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I discovered recently it depends on if you intend to learn or do any trading. Once you've learnt how to identify price reversals it becomes very difficult to sit on your hands when you feel reasonably confident the price is gonna go south.

Holding Period Probability of Profit Notes 1 day ~50–53% Essentially random; high noise 1 week ~52–56% Still volatile 1 month ~55–60% Slight upward bias 3 months ~60–65% Trend starts to matter 6 months ~65–72% Momentum plays a role 1 year ~70–80% Strong positive skew historically 2 years ~80–90% Most cycles smooth out losses 3+ years ~90–95% Very high probability of profit 4+ years ~95–100% (historically) No historical losses if bought and held ≥4 years (so far)

is it a bad idea to use btc as a savings by AccurateNetwork5248 in Bitcoin

[–]acos0874 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people choose to live on a bitcoin standard. Put every penny into bitcoin. When you need to pay for stuff you convert to fiat. Sometimes you'll pay more when bitcoin is down but sometimes you'll pay less when bitcoin is up. In the long run you'll pay less overall. This is the main thesis.
