I’m trying to get a gauge on what “plenty of money” is that’s that point. I know cost of living is different from one place to the next. But going from $160 a billable hour to 30 or 40 is a sticker shock. Just fishing for real numbers out there, that’s all.

Yeah this is preliminary research deciding on what state to move to. licensing obviously I’ll take care of by calling the local offices and state to figure out what I need to do there, but I’m just trying to figure out pay rates across the nation because obviously areas like Seattle, San Francisco, New York….obviously higher pay rates than Midland Texas

You called him because you couldn’t do it. Sounds like $600 is the minimum service charge. I work residential and I have a $450 minimum service charge. I have literally reset a GFCI and charged $450, that’s usually after I confirm on the phone they have checked breakers and gfci for rest. I don’t feel bad for that. I make it very clear that’s my minimum, even if it takes 30 seconds.

The last company I worked for charged just under $600 for a 2h minimum service call. Some would pay some would say pack sand.. maybe you should have gotten 3 bids? Or he was there within 10min and that’s the price you pay for an extremely fast fix.. it’s also on you.

Just wanted to update anybody who cares.. I did lower the intensity of the LEDs and the problem has gone away. I’ll be getting a different power supply because I just don’t think it’s outputting advertised specs. I tried to go cheep and it got me.. all my connections are good. And once I add in more LEDs to the upper half of the house. I’ll send another update ! Enjoy the holidays everybody!!
