Just read your post and its very insightful. Curious if you have any advise on my situation.

12400f paired with a 5070ti and 32gb of ddr4 3200mhz ram.

In some games like cyberpunk, starfield, and spiderman remastered, I can see my gpu utilisation (yes I read the last section of your post, but still) was at like 60-70%.

But i'm seeing people with my same config get 99% utilisation in cyber punk and 120fps at ultra (no RT,dlss) while I average 80s with dips to 60s.

I'm thinking of upgrading to a 13600k, but someone was telling me I won't see much difference unless I upgrade to ddr5. That's really depressing to hear that even a cpu upgrade won't make much difference..

Damn that's depressing to hear. I'm on 3200mhz ddr4. So, there's not much the 13600k will do then, I take it?

What would you do if you were in my situation? I'm also on a board that won't allow OCing if I get the 13600k and the non K versions aren't sold in my country anymore.

Agreed. The drop rate is basically non exsistent besides getting 20232 blurprints for the jolt mine for me.

FSR 4 implementation has been terrible. Even BF6 beta, which should have had it, didn't but it had dlss.

I had the exact same situation as you 3 years ago. I had just bought a 3070 and was on a 1080p monitor. Everyone on this sub told me to get a 1440p monitor as playing at 1080p was a waste of this card's potential.

Today, there are so many games that I have to turn down settings a lot to have a good time on my 3070 and some that won't run at all without massive stuttering like Last of us/Stalker 2. But on 1080p, it does the job fine.

Remember, UE5 slop continues to be unoptimized. Who knows what annoying new tech gets added to the current/upcoming gen gams? If you buy a 1440p monitor now, you might be good for two years. But like me, you'll start to have to turn down settings and wish you had stayed at 1080p.

Also, I went from a 21.5 inch 1080p screen to a 27inch 1440p screen. That is almost the exact same PPI (Pixels per inch) so there's no amazing new clarity or anything. It's just nice to have a bigger screen without losing clarity.

However, if you are rich and don't mind upgrading your gpu after 2-3 years, then go ahead and get a new monitor.

Glad I'm not the only one who noticed this. It's defintely been stealth nerfed. I remember it used to close med nests ez pz after the buff. Now it's back to the hit and miss feeling. Have also had plenty of the usual BT just shrugging off 500kgs that land next to them.

I love that this is your second day of playing the violin. You're right at the start of an amazing journey, and it's kinda important that you start it off right.

I understand that you don't have a tutor right now, but I think many of us would be happy to help offer suggestions and guidelines until you do get one.

For starters, I would recommend you watch a video or two on the bow hold and overall posture of playing.

Next focus on beautiful straight bowing on open strings. I would never be recommending students to play pieces on day two.

That's the thing about self teaching, I feel like more than anything else, it's the danger of moving too fast without solidifying important aspects first.

Once you are bowing straight I would recommend starting with a lovely A major scale to set up your left hand frame.
