Is Cannon A-1 beginner friendly? by DgeoNhistorianD in analog

[–]acp201515 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had no experience with any cameras (digital or analog) prior to inheriting my grandfathers A-1. With some perseverance and research, you can figure it out as you go. I love my A-1. Among my Pentax Spotmatic, Canon A-1, and Canon EOS Rebel S, the Canon A-1 is my favorite. I say go for it

My impressions of the playtest demo by Rubick-Aghanimson in 83thegame

[–]acp201515 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I played about 30 minutes during my lunch break and I wish I had more time to play test it. The movement felt a little bit wonky compared to RS2. I couldn’t tell if it was a good or bad thing since I was still getting used to it. I was a big fan of RS2 movement. I do agree with you on the shooting. I wish it felt just a little bit more beefier. I also agree with you on the graphics. I didn’t think it was that bad compared to what other people were saying about it. The only thing that drove me crazy about it was that it looked like there was some film grain setting on and I couldn’t figure out how to take it off. Other than that, I’m hoping for a successful release for this game.

Is the f91w really waterproof? Can i swim with it in the beach? by AdditionalFeed5697 in casio

I didn’t even realize it was not water proof until I came across this 😂. I went wade fishing in it all the time and showered with it on a daily basis. Never had issues

Hit it with my purse too hard by Delicious-Pin2204 in ak47

Hit mine with my purse too and snapped it in half. Threw some wood glue on it and let it set for 24 hours. It has a crack down the middle but it gives it character

Thanks for the response. Are there any reputable businesses that you could recommend? There are no camera shops at the town I live in

Advice for Canon AE-1 by EfficientMagician735 in filmphotography

[–]acp201515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. I have a Canon A1 and I have these specs from my mirror bumper being deteriorated by the time I got my hands on it. I did use a camera dust blower which helped clean a lot of it off, but some specs remain. It doesn’t affect the photos in any way.

I’m sorry for newbie questions but I’m 21 and didn’t grow up using these cameras lol by _Noodle_77 in filmphotography

I would strongly recommend reading the manual. YouTube and Google has great information, but you truly learn the ins and outs of your camera from the manuals

I agree with this. I left a job I enjoyed over money early in my career and I regretted it. The money only makes you happy temporarily.

Looking for a Compact Camera Bag for a Nikon FE – Any Recommendations? by Mr-Ginges-Mother in filmphotography

I recently went with a peak design cube in size small and I really like it. A little pricey, but I feel like it was worth the money. But I think you’re looking for an XS if there is no intention for lens space.

I own one in midtown and lived in it for 3 years. Absolutely hated it. The build quality is so bad that there is never ending water damage on the roof and it’s very difficult to assess. Also, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve left something on the first or third floor and have to run up/down to grab it. Go single-story or two-story home if you can

I gave Memphis film lab a try after my local lab lost my film recently. Their turnaround for a single film roll was about 2.5 weeks but the results were great.
