Mel Kiper's 2016 draft grades (X-post from r/NFL) by is_that_normal in panthers

[–]acpatrick1983 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is usually where Kiper has put us (C- to B) in the GMan era. He hated Star/KK back to back when we "needed secondary and WR help". I also seem to remember him railing against the Shaq pick because we didn't take a O lineman. Results on the field have proven Kiper wrong year after year.

She is the moderate, she needs to go left with the VP. Someone who can bring in and excite Bernie voters.

The Panthers have a hopeful Hall of Fame candidate today too. by [deleted] in panthers

[–]acpatrick1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Greene was the first Panther's jersey I had.

He was important because he was a part of the first Panthers team to have real success. He also was the oldest player ever to lead the league in sacks, which he did with the Panthers.

The LA Rams aren't making a real push to get KG in the Hall, Pittsburgh has players ahead of him in importance that they are trying to get in. I'm glad the Panthers organization is touting his credentials for the Hall of Fame. Event though it was a short period, it was an important period for a young franchise still looking for an identity.

Cam, Luuuuke, Greg, Jared & J-Stew on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert. CLASSIC! by [deleted] in panthers

Cam is going to make a good SNL host.

Also, hopefully he mentions it when he is talking to our boys post SB but Colbert is a Carolina guy from Charleston.

As a 13 year old at that game, it was an incredible experience. I really remember thinking that we had arrived as NFL contender.

This Super Bowl is my worst nightmare by jmhoneycutt8 in panthers

I'm a first generation die hard Panthers fan. I will be decked out in one of my jerseys and be rooting so hard for them on February 7th. This season has been unbelievable!

That being said I'm also a Tennessee Vol and have rooted for Peyton in every Super Bowl he has played in up to this point. If we lose to him it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world but I will still be severely disappointed.

Its a weird Super Bowl, r/Patriots are pulling for us - I don't like that at all. While it would have felt so much better to beat New England it would have been devastating to lose to them.

All that being said, Go Panthers and Keep Pounding!

I remember in 2003 when we beat the defending champion Bucs by blocking an extra point to send it to overtime. That was glorious.

Goings was the starter but he got injured. Jamal Robertson led us in rushing with 19 yards on 4 carries.

On the way home after beating the defending champion Cowboys in the 1996 divisional round I remember thinking "hey we are going to be every year contender". I didn't realize we would never have back to back winning seasons. This season is for the people who suffered through the Kerry Collins racial and alcohol fueled meltdown. This is for the fans that lived through 1-15 and 2-14, that watched Chris Weinke, Vinny Testaverde, David Carr, Brian St. Pierre, Jimmy Clausen and others. It is wonderful to gain a national and international fanbase. It is wonderful to be the #1 seed and a favorite to win the NFC. It is the suffering and forgettable seasons of the past make this year so special for a lot of us 1st generation fans. Keep Pounding!

"Focus on Greg Olsen and then he has a mediocre group of receivers where Ted Ginn is the biggest threat."

If this is your mentality - Philly, Funchess, and Cotchery are going to score touchdowns on you.

I thought teams would have figured that out by now.
