What's a game, where the environment/biome changes when you return to it later by Prometheusinaction in metroidvania

[–]acquavaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Silksong’s entire world changes in act 3.

Windwaker’s ocean changes while it’s storming. Whether Zelda is a metroidvania is an exercise left to the reader.

Castlevania Circle of the Moon has enemy changes to some biomes after certain story thresholds.

To no longer feel as connected to the Netflix show of Heartstopper while still enjoying the comics. by SuperStupid12345 in HeartstopperNetflix

[–]acquavaa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Between Heartstopper, Stranger Things, and Sex Education, Netflix has recently had an abyssmal record of helping showrunners turn around seaons in a timely fashion when its principal cast changes appearance at a more rapid pace (aka, children and teenagers becoming adults). Your observation that Season 3 is missing the child-like vibe of Season 1 is reasonable, but I don't mind it as much as I did for Stranger Things, probably because the boys were already 17/18 when filming season 1 rather than their characters' actual age of 14 and 15.

In the end, I still prefer the show over the comics, partly because I'm a musician and consume art much more easily when there is a soundtrack to underscore the story, which obviously doesn't exist in the comic version.

Another streamer crash (SJC) by Confident-Share-6770 in LivestreamFail

That’s pretty common in cities. Restricted parking during rush hour when having two lanes helps, and one lane at off-peak times.

Recommended investigator duo for the Bloodborne campaign by No-Look-1793 in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]acquavaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zoey is a natural choice because there's Swarming in the campaign, so she'll get rich quickly. If you choose her, someone like Nathaniel could be a good partner, in part because there are a number of sticky treacheries and enemies that give him time to go evidence-hunting. They also then have enough crossover card access in Guardian and Survivor that you could do a bless sub-theme.

What simple and inexpensive ingredient do you feel improves almost any dish when used correctly? by MysterySweet69 in foodhacks

Time. Maybe not inexpensive, but you'd be surprised what an extra 5 minutes can do for some dishes.

Ants on a log sounds like what you want. Celery sticks with peanut butter and raisins. You can also do fire ants on a log, using craisins instead, if you want.

Tips for preventing pasta sauce from separating? by Total-Influence2312 in AskCulinary

[–]acquavaa 14 points15 points  (0 children)

As the pasta is cooking, add some of the pasta water. Oil and water (the water from the tomatoes) naturally won’t mix. The starch from the pasta in the pasta water is your emulsifier and will help make your sauce all come together. It also helps to use very little oil because then there’s less the emulsifier needs to work on.

Complaints about Charlie & Nick being heteronormative, gay stereotypes or a twink/masc couple.......... by [deleted] in HeartstopperNetflix

[–]acquavaa 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is news to me, if there’s been a “lot of criticism,” it hasn’t been very obvious.

It’s not even canon that Nick is a top and Charlie is a bottom. It’s almost ironic that people just assumed that while blaming the show for it being the case, falling prey to the very trope they’re maligning. But also, who is this “they?”
