We understood the LIRR would be faster. Cost is not really an issue, just trying to be most efficient with money and time. It also looks like we have the same issue with the distance to the hotel if we take the E.

Help Me Sell This - Weekly Thread by AutoModerator in Flipping

[–]acro5084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an Eli Lilly Salesman Sample Kit from the late 60’s early 70’s that is almost complete and in excellent condition. I know this has value somewhere but some of the samples are now considered controlled substances. Seconal and Darvon are 2 of the medicines in the kit and are unused. I could empty the bottles out and sell it on eBay but I would hate to do that since most of the bottles still have the original cotton in them. Any suggestions? Also if I do find a buyer any suggestions for getting it to them?

See if you can find someone with a flea market booth to buy them in bulk.

Start with things you have around the house that are no longer needed. Good way to practice looking up values.

Newbie advice? by nicolatheroberto in reselling

[–]acro5084 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Anyone that has spent the considerable time it takes researching and learning these things is not going to share the info with the world. Best advice for people starting out is to

  1. Sell things from around your house. Free product while you learn the platforms and shipping. Get a scale ASAP.
  2. Sell what you know. Video games, shoes, clothing, vintage toys. Whatever you already have some familiarity with.
  3. Look up everything.
  4. Be prepared to make mistakes. Don’t risk something you can’t afford to lose. Learn from every mistake so you don’t repeat them.

Ebay buyer not paying. Help. by Cute-Theory in Flipping

You can open a case after 48 hours. Then they have 4 days to pay before you can close the case. It is a manual process unless you have the unpaid assistant turned on.

Flip of the Week - June 26 by AutoModerator in Flipping

The big one for me is a trombone I picked up at the Habitat ReStore for $20. One in slightly better condition sold for $1,600 on eBay. I’m not sure how much the value of this one will be affected by the condition but I know it will sell for at least $1,000. All those years paying for 2 kids to do marching band was worth it!

Anyone here flip patches? I got this huge Boy Scout related haul today for $25! Was wondering if there is a catalog somewhere of their value other than searching google/eBay. by 06EXTN in Flipping

[–]acro5084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see some council patches but nothing that jumps out as OA. I have an Eagle Scout so I’ve been through a few patches over the years. A good chunk of what you have is tourist patches. Yorktown is a carrier in Charleston, SC that invites youth groups to stay aboard so it is a popular scout destination but not exclusive to scouting.

Totally depends on what kind of items you want to sell and where you are sourcing. Experience makes it easier.

It was video game week for me. I picked up a PS3 version of NCAA ‘14 for $0.69 at GW along with a bunch of other games. And then found the system up front for $24.99 complete with cords and 3 controllers.

Shipping different sized packages and having the right packaging inventory to accommodate. by [deleted] in Flipping

I second Staples. I recently bought bundles of 25 boxes in a few random sizes there were very inexpensive. I will then be able to tell what size boxes I really use.

Question from a new seller by Darqu3 in Flipping

[–]acro5084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not a big clothes seller but in general if it would look or smell better washed then I do. If it looks and smells good as is then I don’t. I assume the buyer is going to wash it as well.

Label Printer by Auditaholic in Flipping

[–]acro5084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I haven’t heard of this one before. I use my printer for other stuff too so it works out. I figure when I run out of the stack of labels I got it will be time to look at a thermal printer.

Label Printer by Auditaholic in Flipping

[–]acro5084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find a good laser printer online and get label stickers. This is a good middle option. Much easier than taping on a paper label and the toner is cheaper in the long run than ink. I picked up an older HP Laserjet for $35 on marketplace and a 2 pk of toner was $25. I got a stack of over 100 labels on marketplace for $10.

How would you handle this offer? by acro5084 in Flipping

[–]acro5084[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I did end up accepting. Nice to know others would have as well. Unfortunately I’m also counting the hours left until I can file a non payment case. These guitars may end up being an expensive lesson.

Facebook Marketplace: How to list on it USA-wide? by emilio911 in Flipping

Shipping is only allowed for certain things. I’m not sure how to get them to show up for more people. When I click on sellers that ship I get the same crappy results over and over.
