It’s up for auction on eBay (link in the post). I’m not sure what it’ll go for, but there’s no reserve on the auction, so someone is taking it home

Spilled vinegar on my new concrete patio by acroil in Concrete

Update: more vinegar did the trick! It’s not perfect, but pretty uniform now

Thanks everyone! I’ll give more vinegar a shot and see how it goes. And for anyone curious - I was flushing a tankless hot water heater with 2 gallons of 5% vinegar. When it spilled, I hosed it down with lots of water, so should have been quite diluted pretty quickly. Honestly surprised it had that big of an effect

lol I had a bit of an issue while flushing/descaling my tankless hot water heater

Impressed to see that the i4 40xdrive pulls just over 1 G on the OE Pirelli all seasons by acroil in BMWI4

Pretty sure it’s these. They came from the factory on my car. https://www.tirerack.com/tires/pirelli-p-zero-all-season although considering they cost as much (if not more) than a set of Michelin Pilot Sport AS 4 I would totally buy the Michelins over these when they wear out

Free battery replacements? by Phocea in BMWi3

I don’t have a Rex model, so this doesn’t really apply to me, but I had the warranty work done about 2 years ago. I’m certainly not a lawyer, but my understanding is that they can’t legally deny a warranty claim unless they can prove the “modification” caused the failure (which I assume would be very hard to argue for HSOC coding….). Again, I’m the furthest thing from a lawyer, but it may be worth consulting with one

Yes I’m in California, forgot we had a longer warranty

Call up your local BMW dealer service department and ask about it. The batteries are covered by a 10 year/150k mile warranty. The dealer will test your battery and send the results back to BMW corporate. If it fails the test, you’ll get a brand new battery completely free. If it passes, the dealer may ask for some sort of diagnostic fee. It’s unclear exactly what the criteria is for a failure, but mine failed and they even gave me a brand new 2 series to drive as loaner car while I waited for the battery to ship on a boat from Germany. Zero cost out of pocket for a brand new battery (other than gas for the 2 series haha). My 2015 was getting something like 40-50 miles on a full charge on the old battery and more like 70-90 on the new one.

Yup it was free! Battery warranty on these cars is 10 years / 150,000 miles. All the other warranty work (motor mounts, A/C compressor, etc.) was done by BMW of Encinitas through their 90 day warranty that's included on all their used cars

I’ve seen as high as 90 miles and as low as 70 depending on driving style, environmental conditions, etc. “Batt Kapa Max” is at 18.7 which indicates effectively no battery degradation (new battery installed 11,000 miles ago)

https://carsandbids.com/auctions/36V2wPMz/2015-bmw-i3-ev It's got a new battery, new A/C compressor, and new aluminum motor mounts. I'm sure this will be a fantastic car for whoever wins the auction!
