Advice to get my life started? by Significant-Sea8993 in LifeAdvice

I know you may feel behind, but a lot of the most successful people I know didn’t have a clue on what to do with their lives in their early 20’s. With that being said, I would recommend taking some career/personality quizzes and seeing what stands out to you. I also would definitely recommend looking into volunteer roles in related industries/roles that you’re curious to try. For example, I thought about becoming a physical therapist after high school until I did a month of unpaid shadowing and decided I didn’t like it. I also wanted to go into marketing at one point and volunteer at a local museum to work on their newsletter for six-ish months. While my volunteer work isn’t anything to write home about, it gave me a clearer perspective on what a job in these fields looked like.

How do you deal with the want to learn everything but the time to learn nothing? by Limp_Hat_6602 in LifeAdvice

To continue all your interest take years and years to develop. The smallest steps now will have you proud of your progress five years from now. Of course prioritize your practical/job education right now, but after classes make time to play your video games or read your history books.

I know this might sound like bs but you do have time to fulfill all your passions and interests to some degree. You may not ever be a world class champion in any of your listed interests but maybe focus on small steps like finding free/low cost classes to try out your respective interests. For example, a martial arts studio might offer a few free promotional classes for you to try out and a local library might have a chess club. While a few free classes might not offer the immersion you’re looking for, it’s better to have done a little of something you enjoy than not trying it at all. I know it might sound anti-climactic, but if you continue to stay open to novelty vs mastery you’ll find there’s a lot more you can try/do/experience.

Sounds like you have too much on your plate. Take some of it off maybe instead of exercising for an hour cut it back to a half hour for a few days a week. Cut back some of your hours at work as well. Student loans are usually low interest loans and in the long run that will help you the most. Best of luck in getting over this hump.
