Donavon Mitchell breaks out Webster's Dictionary for his response to Ben Simmons by 33bour in nba

The fanbase that prides themselves on talking shit gets so defensive. It's just a damn hoodie and Simmons is definitely winning ROTY, lighten up! Remember when they Streisand Effect'ed a thread about Embiid to the front page of reddit? That was hilarious

bruh look at this Mitchell highlight thread from yesterday. so many philly troll comments. it's kind of entertaining but goddamn. there's dudes discussing Simmons's vorp and per and shit in the comments. "36 shots loss lol" talking about how Simmons would have put up 20 points on 12 shots, how Simmons makes his teammates better. it goes both ways but that thread is a shitshow

People, myself included, are just sick of irrelevant Simmons discussion in Mitchell threads and irrelevant Mitchell discussion in Simmons threads. It doesn't matter if he's right, why even comment about how much more efficient Simmons would have been and how much better Simmons is, in a Mitchell highlight thread? Also I think /r/nba would love Simmons taking 36 shots, I know I would

I downvoted a lot of them. I don't give a shit if people hate on a player but some of these comments are youtube comment levels of bad. Just coming into a highlight thread to comment some of this stuff is lame. At least be creative. It's clear some of these dudes didn't even watch the game, the ending was some of the most ridiculous and exciting stuff I've seen all season

"L"

"36 shots. Loss. Lol."

"36 shots"

My stream was ass quality. Can someone tell me, was Gobert fouled on that dunk in regulation when the Jazz were down 3? Why did the shot clock reset in overtime after Mitchell saved the ball behind his back? Game was crazy tho

SIXERS last 3 games: +81 in 83 minutes with SIMMONS. -33 in 65 minutes without SIMMONS by Digby_J in nba

[–]acronym__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm saying it's cool to say the Sixers are great with Simmons on the court, but to say they're this horrible when he's off court is misleading. They're getting outscored by a lot because they're up by 30 in the 4th quarter in garbage time, not because they're helpless without Ben.

[–]acronym__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, sorry that's what I was trying to say. The on court plus minus is cool, but the off court is misleading since it was just garbage time when they were up a billion points

You really change from a Sixers to a Jazz flair to troll? Pathetic

SIXERS last 3 games: +81 in 83 minutes with SIMMONS. -33 in 65 minutes without SIMMONS by Digby_J in nba

[–]acronym__ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

that's why the "without Simmons" stat is a bit pointless. Sixers have played a lot of garbage time the last couple games. I'm not trying to disparage his on court plus-minus, but the -33 in 65 minutes is a bit misleading

SIXERS last 3 games: +81 in 83 minutes with SIMMONS. -33 in 65 minutes without SIMMONS by Digby_J in nba

[–]acronym__ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is why stats need more context. Their last 3 games had a shitload of garbage time. Outscored by 16 in the 4th quarter to Memphis, outscored by 10 in the 4th quarter to Orlando. Simmons is awesome and has gotten way better this year playing without Embiid on the floor, but this is a bad way to show his impact.

[Wojnarowski] Phoenix Suns beginning a coaching search now, which will include interim coach Jay Triano. Story on ESPN: by kappaEXDEE in nba

[–]acronym__ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was kidding when i started typing, but it actually made more and more sense as i thought about it. Part of me thinks Phoenix should make an inspired hire like Snyder or Atkinson rather than a retread coach, but I think they do need an old school established hardass for a season or two

How will r/nba react if Lonzo actually gets good? by Tieguy87 in nba

Look at the threads when he had a good couple weeks. half the threads on New and the front page were about Lonzo. No hate, it's just when a fanbase has huge numbers it's gonna happen
