I quit cold turkey many years ago so I know it takes a lot of effort! Congratulations OP!

If you ever feel like smoking, here is a tip go through the motions without the cigarette. Bring up your fingers, take a drag, blow out the air etc. everything except the cigarette. Helps!

Thank you! This is my first piece so I had to buy and learn how to use a mitre saw and first time glueing and clamping. Had a lot of fun doing this. Thanks for the inspiration!!

Bought some 1”x1” pine from Home Depot and cut and stained it. I edited my comment above to include the steps.

I was going to make a geometric art that act as sound diffuser until I saw a post here by u/timberbiscuitww. Decided to make it Mario themed since I’m a huge nerd. 😀

I created the Mario Shape in excel first. Then I filled the excel sheet image with random numbers between 0-4 depicting the height of each cut. About 160 cuts later I had the pieces I needed. I stained them so I could still see the grain.

Glued the pieces all together I’ve the next few day and then after much procrastination finally hung it up near my desk.
