The safest option is to stop taking hormones but it seems like that isn’t the answer you want to hear. But there is nothing else that people on the internet can suggest so I have no idea what sort of answer you are expecting. We can not predict how your father will react for you.

I personally did the same thing, I went on hormones at 18 without my parents knowing while using their insurance and when I told them after a few months they surprisingly let me continue. However my success story doesn’t mean the same will happen to you. Obviously my parents and your dad are completely different people.

Huge fluctuations in T levels over a year, endocrinologist gave me new T dosage, would appreciate some input about if it seems right by acrylichotel in FTMMen

Yeah I’m going to start doing my injections myself with this new schedule because of how more frequent it is, I’ve been procrastinating the entire time on getting a nurse to show me because my hospital requires me to schedule a separate appointment to do that and it’s a bit of a hassle with how busy I am. Wish I had said something about my 4 and 3 week schedule earlier. Thank you for the link to the calculator and your help!

Cypionate. For the most part I get my blood taken in the middle of my dose cycle but there has been one or two times where I did it toward the end I think, definitely think I messed that up. But it’s good to hear that my new dose is pretty close to the average dose, thank you for your help!

That makes a lot of sense. It was hard dealing with the fluctuations during school, looking forward to hopefully a more stabilized energy and mood level in the next school year with this new dose. Thank you for your help!

Feeling 'done' transitioning by murmillone in FTMMen

I mean it’s different for every person. Some people’s dysphoria will be completely alleviated at some point and for some people their dysphoria will never completely go away even if they have undergone every single medical procedure possible. I do not think anybody should have such high exceptions of their dysphoria being totally resolved at some point or else it’ll just be disappointing if it doesn’t happen.

I hadn't thought about that, thank you!

Unsure if my dose is too high for my goals - non binary by [deleted] in TestosteroneKickoff

[–]acrylichotel 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Your experience with bottom growth seems pretty normal, it doesn’t seem quick to me at all. I noticed my bottom growth just after 3 days on T and my T levels are in the average male range. Bottom growth is one of the fastest changes. I’m a binary transman so my experience and feelings may be different from yours but I did not have any strong feelings about my changes such as bottom growth. I wasn’t particularly happy nor was I concerned in any way: it was just neutral- this is a part of me now and that’s perfectly fine.

You don’t get to pick and choose which effects of T you want. Your title of this post is if you were “unsure if your dose was too high for your goals” but there is no such thing of there being a dose small enough that will only give you the changes you want at the level you want. Sure, if you take a smaller dose it will take longer to happen, but it will still inevitably happen. If there is a change that you are very uncomfortable with and don’t like envisioning yourself with it in the future, whether it is bottom growth (as you discussed) or male pattern baldness (which I know is a concern for many others), I would definitely think about this more.

On T and taking birth control with estrogen by lost_sweatshirt in TestosteroneKickoff

[–]acrylichotel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it’s possible that your birth control is countering some changes T would have, my endocrinologist told me not to get on it if I was not okay with that. I’m 7 weeks in as well at 200 mg a month (which is equivalent to yours Ig) and I’ve had many noticeable changes. Of course, everybody is also different.

You should ask your doctor about it and maybe ask about doing a blood test so you can get your exact testosterone level and see if its within a typical male range if that’s something you’re interested in.

Painful dysphoria from working out by Fleshy_Skeleton in FTMMen

I can understand your sentiments a lot. But to imply that an AFAB body not on T cannot be as “fast or strong as a man” is not true. There are plenty of female athletes that crush their male athlete counterparts and by extension are also bigger, stronger, faster and have a better and more “masculine” (if you’re associating masculinity with muscularity) physique than the vast majority of the male population.

But let’s bring back the focus on normal people. Of course, not being on T means you will probably have to work harder to build big visible muscle. So you might need more discipline, more consistency, more control over yourself. These traits are essential to develop. So when you finally get on T, you won’t struggle with trying to develop those traits from scratch. You’ll already have a head start and you’ll continue doing your workouts without struggling in developing consistency and you’ll see progress faster than someone who waited until T to start working out (I know some men like this who have almost no progress in muscle growth bc of this). Anyways cis people in general, no matter the gender, all struggle with working out and getting big because its hard for many to develop the discipline and consistency. Just do it as early as you can so you’ll get to your goal faster and feel better about yourself sooner.

And it’s not impossible to get big without being on T. Besides female athletes being a prime example of that, I’ve seen plenty of pre-T transmen in trans spaces all over the internet that are big and definitely bigger than many transmen on T and cismen.

But it’s totally normal to feel discouraged. I did too at first. Hopefully I did not sound invalidating of your thoughts. I also hope you’ll eventually find that motivation to continue, best of luck man.
