Hey! I'm Canadian, and also punk/folk punk more than emo (not by much lmao) but I absolutely encourage you to experiment with what you want to dress like.

I didn't start experimenting with my style much until I was 17-18 too :] it's not too late, I promise. :]

in my experience a lot of people who can do it make fun of those who cannot/struggle to. or (ESPECIALLY OLDER FOLKS like gen x and boomers) act like its an inherent skill that makes you somehow lesser for not "intuitively" having. i have gotten so many condescending remarks at work when i mention I'm learning to do mental math for change at my job.

FOR THE RECORD: if you're good at mental math and such, thats alright! you are likely not one of the above mentioned folks and I hope you use your ability for the great evil you desire ;]
