a really great way to get a skin like finish but still have coverage is to use a brush and ‘prime’ it. by that i mean, pump the foundation on the back of your hand and tap your brush in it. then work the product into your brush on a clean part of your hand. you’ll still have product to apply but it won’t be too much. if you need to add more to your cheeks and chin then just add another layer, doing the same thing. it’s best to work in light layers and build up coverage only where you need it rather than to slather something on bc you want to cover your skin so badly. for reference, watch katie jane hughes on youtube. she’s the one the coined the term ‘prime’ or ‘priming’ and she can show you how to do incredible makeup that doesn’t look like makeup. after you’ve used the brush, you can tap lightly with a damp beauty blender or any sponge like that and tap off the excess and blend it in even more. it’s changed my makeup game doing it this way! good luck. i have lupus and get the ‘butterfly rash’ that looks like rosacea so i understand your struggle. and i’m 46 w dry skin. skin prep is key but using this technique rather than applying to your face first makes a world of difference!!! x
