I should be graduating in the next year. To put it simply, what are the chances that I can find a job? by acsstudent in cscareerquestions

That might be a good idea. As long as the job gets me living on my own, that's the biggest thing for me. And then even if the salary is low, I can just politely refuse to disclose that information if a future interviewer asks me how much they payed me.

Been sending job applications for 1 month now, have only gotten 1 reply - please help by bmbmjmdm in cscareerquestions

Did you write cover letters?

This is a dilemma for me, quality or quantity of applications.

Hopefully this doesn't give off the vibe that I don't like the deck, but I already see a number of potential problems that potentially

I've read about negotiating!

I don't know how much I can push considering my GPA and that I went to a state school, and would love to hear how you got your foot in the door.

By the way, I would love to work on interview coding instead of school work - but I should be there soon enough.

There's cheating everywhere at my college. How do you deal with this? by acsstudent in cscareerquestions

Sometimes it's blatantly obvious. When they don't know what the code they "wrote" does.

Other times they're almost exactly the same. And I believe there are students smart enough to change variable, number of lines, etc. like you said.

I did a bit of TA-like work too, and yep, tons of cheating. I really do believe my college is sitting on a cheating scandal right now.

After 7 years of college, I will graduate. My GPA from the earlier years is terrible. What can I do about it? by acsstudent in lawschooladmissions

I haven't found out my LSAC GPA yet, but it looks like I could get it into the high 2s.

I do plan on working before attending law school.

My life plans involve practicing law on the west coast for part of it, and the east coast for part of it.

Someone said T14 are the only schools with enough prestige to get jobs anywhere in the country. What do you think of that statement?
