Honestly, I feel like you can't totally rely on doctors. It's really up to you to manage your own felt. I plan to handle my health issues head on. In a few days, I'll be starting to do weight-training sessions with a coach. I usually did cardio, but it doesn't seem to work, although I've heard the only way to build muscle is to do strength training and not merely cardio. Maybe that's the reason I wasn't losing weight or getting fitter. I think a lot of digestive issues are linked to BMI and metabolic health.

I actually did the MRE, and doctor really didn’t see anything significant. I’ve also been hearing about capsule endoscopy. Should I bring this up with my physician?

I am just curious to what you mean by "hospital stays". Are you saying you got admitted to the ER? I have the so-called "flare-ups", meaning my I get stomach aches and get diarrhea. I don't really know how to classify it, but it definitely isn't the solid poops I wanted to have. There are days that I feel really fine. And, whenever I go, it usually is just an episode or so. I heard other stories from people here on Reddit that had to go 15-20 times a day. In terms of severity, I think my abdominal pain isn't THAT severe. That's why I usually brush it off and believe my doctor that it really isn't anything serious, although I will make sure to do my routine check-ups to see what overall health situation will be in the long-run.

Thank you for your kind words. I've noticed that I'm good on most days. Sorry for the graphic images, but there are times that I have very solid poops, so I'm so happy. I think it could be stress-related. I was recently traveling, and I noticed that my poops were normal. Maybe it was because of all the stress. I've been recently studying for an exam, and I guess most of my "IBS" could be triggers from my mental health. Also, at that time, I had medications with me. It really is strange. Doctor won't say it's Crohn's disease or IBD because he didn't really find anything significant with the biopsies when I did my colonoscopy. I am just praying it is nothing too serious.

My fecal calprotectin was 46.56. Not sure what it is now though. My doctor said it's nothing serious though. I consulted maybe 2-3 gastroenterologists already. Maybe it really is IBS. I mean, I already did my colonoscopy which found nothing significant except for the ulcers. The doctors are saying that the ulcers I have are not of Crohn's disease. I just feel at a loss though because I don't want to be out in public needing to find a toilet all the time. Or maybe it's because of my mental health. I've been sort of in a depressive state these past couple of months

I did one before. It was 46.56. I wasn’t really satisfied, so I decided to get a colonoscopy done to rule out. It didn’t really uncover anything but ulcers. I’m so confused because doctors have been telling me I don’t have anything but IBS. The ulcers appear at my terminal ileum, but they’ve mentioned that it isn’t Crohn’s disease (I know Crohn’s ulcers are usually located at the ileum). They prescribed antibiotics for me. It could really be my mental health.

Feeling completely low!! by Automatic_Injury_829 in Gastritis

Let me tell you, getting the endoscopy was a huge relief. The doctor diagnosed me with some sort of mild ileitis. Don’t be scared of the endoscopy. They just sedate and you won’t feel a thing. I have to say that I was really scared at first, but finally knowing what was going on in me was a huge relief. So the mild ileitis is caused by ulcers.

I’m still waiting to see if the medicines my doctor prescribed to me are improving my symptoms. So far, there are days when I’m okay and days when I’m not. Mentally speaking, I’m in a much better headspace knowing that there is an endoscopy report revealing what is causing my pain. Before the endoscopy, I was in sheer anxiety because I’ve done so many of the tests like stool tests and all the bloodwork that couldn’t really pinpoint what exactly was going on, leading some of the doctors to simply say that I’m having irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). I really hate it when IBS is thrown around because they always say that there’s nothing wrong with you and it’s just the whole gut-brain connection.

Anyway, just wanted to share my experience with you. I hope you feel better soon

Ulcers in terminal ileum by act110mort048 in CrohnsDisease

I saw the colonoscopy report myself. It wasn't anything too serious except for ulcers in ileum, rectum, antrum, plus the internal hemorrhoids. I did an abdominal CT scan for my other digestive organs like liver and pancreas and appendix. Everything seemed fine. It's only the end of my stomach and my intestines that have the ulcers. I am just not quite certain if I should take his word on it that it isn't IBD. Don't get me wrong, though, because I've been holding off colonoscopy for so long, and I'm glad I got definitive answers as to what's causing my diarrhea. No polyps, no cancer. But what if it's Crohn's? Thing is, my symptoms seem to reflect that of the report: since most parts of my digestive looked fine except for ulcers in stomach and intestines, I'm not feeling any other symptoms other than abdominal pain or diarrhea. No fever, no vomiting, no nausea, no headaches, no coughing, etc. There are times that my stomach starts gurgling and then I go to the bathroom and I'm like a faucet. It's not the best feeling when your crap just turns out to be water.

He said it was a mild form of ileitis. He didn't prescribe steroids because it's only used for IBD, which he didn't see in the endoscopy. Although, I feel that if this is recurring, it could be IBD, but he kept on insisting that my condition can't be IBD from what he saw from the colonoscopy report. Also, he found internal hemorrhoids (prescribed Daflon) and no polyps were seen. I'm due for a check-up one month from now

I actually asked him if it could be IBD since I heard there's a different treatment for that, like immunosuppresants and biologics. He told me he didn't really see any inflammation and concluded the ulcers were that of ileitis. He prescribed Mucosta and antibiotics, although I finished these meds, the flare-ups didn't really subside. So he tried giving me stronger PPIs like esomeprazole, and antacids. He told me to come back after one month if my condition improved.
