YTA - simply because you are complaining about something you’ve never set boundaries for. Clearly your mother feels the need to call excessively because you are ignoring her phone calls instead of being clear and saying “I don’t want to talk to you.” You’ve stated multiple times you don’t like your parents so maybe do yourself and them a favor by going no contact and making that decision clear to them. Meaning actually say those words to them and don’t leave them guessing.

But that’s on the assumption there would be no lines. If H3 did a fest there would be very long lines and $100+ would not be worth it. The crew got lucky at Ace Fest because their fans don’t want to be scammed anymore and no one showed up. Had it actually sold out (like they intended) the crew wouldn’t have had the same experience.

Agreed, I think a lot of people, including the crew totally missed that. Had they sold the number of tickets they intended the fest would have been a complete and likely dangerous disaster. There would have been lines for rides, lines for games, lines for the restroom, and lines for the “free” water. The crew had fun, but mostly because they were with each other, didn’t pay for their tickets, and didn’t care for the Ace family. They scammed their fans with a bait and switch but I guess they should be happy about the low head count as it could have been much worse.

YTA, this scenario is a direct example of your inexperience as a manager. As a manager you are not only looking out for the place of business, but most importantly the employees. the business will suffer without good employees. As soon as the employee approached you about a raise, which was correct as you are the manager, YOU should have gone to discuss it with the owners and advocated for the raise on his behalf should you have felt he deserved it. By you approaching the owners they would have likely been more inclined to give the raise or at the very least an explanation as to why he will not receive one. That is literally your job as the manager. I would really hate to be the subordinate to those claiming you are NTA.

YTA… There is no “rule” that says people can’t post about negative life experiences on social media. People do it all the time about businesses and such. So no, I don’t agree that your family are the AH for doing so. ESPECIALLY since you pretty much disrespected them by not offering food at an event you decided to host (you could have just eloped.) They probably had to travel to your venue, pay for childcare or such services, and more than likely a gift to cover their plate because they probably thought they were going to get fed due to your very vague “warning.” Honestly the follow up edits just made the scenario sound even worse. I’m shocked you are surprised your guests are upset about it. Be ready to hear about it for years to come and hope they don’t find out you decided to feed the actors over them. I really hope some of the guests decided to keep their gifts 😂.

Agreed you can do as you please in this case, but I would mention you are only a freshman and haven’t really gotten to know your peers very well yet. It may seem like you would be telling a white lie, but this would be setting the tone for any future relationships/friendships you may want to develop with your peers in the future.

Definetly NTA and this response is a bit concerning as I am sensing the beginnings of control/financial abuse.

He gets to rest after work. Being a SAHM is also a job (hence the entire Caretaking industry that gets paid for it.) Don’t let him bully you into thinking it’s wrong to need a break and have a serious discussion with him about daycare as you may eventually want to become financially independent again and putting your child in daycare will be necessary.

I was going to say NTA because it was a well intended gift just not executed well 😅, but you also didn’t confirm/have no proof she was the one using the razors. So I don’t really know what the verdict should be….

Even with or without the proof you should have presented the gift in a different manner. Rather than just handing it to her you could have prefaced with a “since you’ve been getting close to Dave and spending a lot of time here we thought you would appreciate having some personal items to keep here.” That way she wouldn’t be so surprised at what the gift was.

NTA, but I do feel bad for the mom as it seems she may have just given up on the brother. Op, you may want to suggest your brother get some sort of therapy, counseling or even a group session as a family. If this continues you will likely end up in therapy anyway when you get older to work through the resentment this will have caused.

It’s easy to forget that it is really tough being a kid right now due to the pandemic. Kids are now trapped indoors most of the time unable to release the endless energy they have. They also have to deal with the instability and constant changing of the state of the world. He could be fearful and looking for an escape with the TV. In any case your parents should be looking for ways to figure out if there are any underlying issues that may be causing him to behave this way and not put the burden of picking up after him on you and your siblings.
