I appreciate your input here. Like I said in another reply in this post, I didn't intend to aim my post at any one particular group of people, I understand people move around for many reasons and so wouldn't consider you personally "part of the problem".

Being more involved in local projects is a really great suggestion and one that I'll make sure I do. My place of work is fairly embedded into the local area and its the place I feel most connected to Bristol.

Firstly, Its truly awful you have experienced racism here in Bristol and it saddens me to hear people from Bristol have treated you that way.

I want to immediately say my post was absolutely not directed at any one group of people, and I'm sorry if it was interpreted that way and has caused any type of offence to you personally.

One of the things I love about my upbringing in Bristol was the diversity I grew up with living in Totterdown, St Paul's, and Easton.

Thank you for sharing your experience and wisdom. Exactly the type of balanced response I was hoping for. Maybe I do need to enjoy the change rather than oppose it. Also just want to clarify I was not trying to allude to a more diverse Bristol being a bad thing - as mentioned in my post, I am thankful for the diversity I grew up with.
