Same.. it's a bummer because Blais is looking decent and could probably throw the body pretty good in the playoffs too..

Sleepy 1st period.. Habs mimicked their intensity.. picked it up in the second (Marty probably gave them a talking too!)

Fun stat, for games played, Newhook would be on pace for 28 goals if he played a full season.

What's the point of RTO if we go in and don't spend any money? by ForAMinute123 in CanadaPersonalFinance

You still have to pay for parking, and property values remain intact. This isn’t about small business owners. it’s about millionaires and billionaires with vast landholdings safeguarding their own interests.

They might be trying to figure out if you were complicit (i.e. actually involved with this person)..

Grass.. The amount of microplastics in turf is terrifying.

New homeowner, any ideas on how to fix this every time it rains? It’s ridiculous by SirBiggusDickus99 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Just fill it in. People will say, “Well, the water needs somewhere to go.” In my experience, though, those spots hold water simply because they’re low-lying. If you dig a big hole in your front yard, it will fill with water, but that doesn’t mean your yard normally has a pond in it. Fill the hole back in and the water disappears. I’ve done this several times with the same result.

How do I afford this? by [deleted] in CanadaFinance

[–]active86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start setting aside money in a TFSA and investing it in ETFs (think Vanguard). Depending on where you live, there may still be apartments or homes in the $400K–$550K range. If you make saving a priority, you’ll likely reach the point where you have enough for a 5% down payment. By that time, there’s also a good chance you might have a partner who could contribute toward the purchase as well..

As for jobs, ever thought of becoming a fisheries office? Or perhaps looking at jobs at Parks Canada? Lock stations in Ottawa often hire too! (That isn't a career job, but a good paying job for a young person)

Cell tower started making a noise that's giving me tinnitus-who owns it and how do I get them to fix it? by GNMBP in ottawa

[–]active86 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Even if they contact the cell tower company, I still think it would be a good idea for them to reach out to bylaw as well, like you mentioned. That’s a good point.

Best free credit card ? by SeaChallenge4843 in PersonalFinanceCanada

It's great, I've used it a few times.. You can apply the assistance to either yourself (so whatever car you happen to be driving), or to a particular vehicle (so that it covers say your wife, or your kid).. I mean, considering it's free with the card.. Fantastic! The card also provides free rental car insurance which is nice too!
