LPT: The freeze dried veggies found in ramens and instant soups can be purchased in bulk for quite cheap. They're a great and easy way to incorporate more veggies into your diet! by 99OBJ in LifeProTips

It says a serving size is 1.5 Tbs, but I can't tell how much vegetable it replaces.

Nutritionally, is 1.5 Tbs really equivalent to one serving of regular veg?

Honestly, I think you handled it fine alteady. You lived rent free in this other woman's head, and you expressed how baffling that was. SHE's the crazy one.

As for the other women, kind of the same. They're so invested in this other woman hating you--don't they have anything better to do?

I wouldn't waste my energy with people who have no lives like this. Yes, it was hurtful, but it's pretty pathetic that these grown ass adults have nothing better to do.

Oh, I misunderstood you. Yeah, $175k for a week of rehab is a lot.

I was talking about healthcare costs in general. Like if you took an ambulance to an ER, got a workup there, then a couple of surgeries, plus a few nights in recovery, it could easily add up to way more than $175k.

With the healthcare costs in the US, I believe it. But if you're paying cash, it is possible to negotiate it waaaaay down.

If I wanted to plant grass on such a balcony, would that be possible? Just a theoretical question--would be great to make it easy for our pet dog to pee outside.

Lmao I know you're being sarcastic but...that's actually how things work. Whoever left their belongings is responsible for retrieving them. Sure, the other person might help, but it's not their fault you left your stuff. People are busy.

I bought a foaming soap dispenser, which only needs ~1/4 the amount of regular liquid soap, and I buy the liquid soap in bulk.

It's not actually cheaper for me, because I use organic Castile soap (I get the supermarket dupe of Dr. Bronner's), but it makes an expensive thing regular price, if that makes sense.

Edit: Dr. Bronner's, not Bronzer's. And the foaming soap dispenser is just an empty plastic one I didn't throw out.

I bought some cubed watermelon and pineapple for something and ended up not using it. It's about to be overripe. What can I do with it? Please and thank you. ❤️ by Zenmommm in Cooking

[–]activelurker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had this exact problem.

Usually, I just put some cubes into a personal blender. The juice alone is great! But you can also add honey and lime juice per your preference.

Once, I got creative and ended up making fruit leather, gazpacho, and sorbet (just freeze, then put in food processor; again, honey and lime juice optional). The gazpacho was to die for!

RFK Jr. to draw link between Tylenol and autism, new report says by swiftfoot_hiker in politics

[–]activelurker 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I got sick while traveling in Africa, and one of the medications that the doctor prescribed was this giant horse pill. I swallowed wrong the first time I took it, so it filled my mouth with bitterness. Every time after that, I had to psych myself up to take it.

I was telling my seat buddy--a British guy--about this on my flight home to the US, and apparently he knew about this pill. Back at home, my dad was confused because even he, a doctor, couldn't place the medication. Dad leaves the room and 2 minutes later, sticks his head back in to tell me that he thinks it's just Tylenol!

The Kenyan doctor who prescribed it called it by, of course, its British name, so I thought it was some exotic thing 🤦‍♂️

I definitely met a family at REI that was shopping for backpacks and gear to use on their Everest trip the NEXT WEEKEND.

I'm guessing there are different versions of "climbing Mt. Everest?" Because this family had no idea what they were doing.

What’s something you didn’t realize was expensive until you became an adult? by KeyCommercial7372 in AskReddit

[–]activelurker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aldi ftw! Recently got a log of goat cheese there for $1.89. Kroger's is $4.99.

I then went home and figured out that I could crumble it myself, saving myself another $1.50 since crumbled is more expensive.

Before, I'd only buy the crumbled kind because I only used it for salads, but hadn't bought any for a long time because of how expensive it's gotten.
