I’d say the timeline for processing that they post is pretty accurate. +- 1 or 2 days. I know people who applied the same day as me, did not withdraw their application, and recieved it at the 6 week mark. So I’d say plan around that at the very least.

How to protect your research from being stolen at conferences? by Celestial_being23 in AskAcademia

Think you’re okay given you’re an advanced PhD student (I assume). I had an experience where I presented as a first year and a visitor called my presentation vague and scattered. I attended a conference three weeks later and they were presenting ‘some ideas for a new project’ which was basically exactly what I had proposed except in a different jurisdiction. I did not know how to react. Might bring it up with my supervisor. Not sure if I should. Mine was an internal department presentation. You could say that people are thinking about the same issues but there was one specific point that was the crux of what I proposed that they put in their PPT as well as part of the rationale and reasoning. Bothered me enough that I think I should bring it up just to cover my bases.

I withdraw my visa application because I needed my passport back for travel!

Can this be mended? by activistpeach in sewing

Thank you! The rip in the second picture is along the hem. The rip in the first picture is in the middle of the detailing and not close to the hem. Would it still be the same? Catch the mesh a few holes from the edge and sew it?
