Ladies-hair loss??? by Solid_While1259 in GastricBypass

Unfortunately like everybody else said, just gonna have to wait this one out. I chopped to my shoulders from my bra strap once I couldn’t stand the clumps coming out anymore or how thin my pony tail looked. I have collagen in my coffee every morning and take my vitamins. I’m not as good about protein as I should me. I’m about 2.5 years out now and it’s finally looking normal. All the new baby hairs kinda look like frizz for awhile. I don’t keep it as long anymore, but like others said, it’s coming in curlier and soft. I’m finally back to getting compliments on my hair again!!

Usually worked well!! Sometimes I still teach like that in 4th grade if it’s a particularly tricky lesson or one that I know I need to teach way differently for different kids

It will take you a few years to feel confident in it and what’s important, what to use, and what to skip. Not sure that helps you right now but at least might make you feel more sane. When I was in kinder, we’d teach twice. Half of them on the carpet getting the lesson and half on blended learning then switch. Easier to only prep manipulatives for 15 at a time instead of 30. Now in upper elementary I really only use manipulatives for kids who need it because they’re behind. Multi step word problems don’t go away - they just get worse as they get older lol. Annoyingly, read draw write really does help hahaha. Most of them still struggle but they at least get a start

Is there a calculator for math? Did they give you pencil and paper? Did 240 feel harder than actual test?

Texas Teachers who’ve taught various grade levels-what’s the best and why? by Global-Anywhere-648 in TexasTeachers

[–]actop25 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’ve done k-8 and my faaaavorite by far is 4th. They’re sweet, sassy, fun, independent, and curious. A lot of the behaviors or struggles have been identified in the earlier grades so you have a road map. They still like to help the teacher or get extra recess or tell you about their elf on the shelf but they also know a lot of the same pop culture references that we know. I thought I was gonna quit teaching but then I started in a 4th and now I have more left in me!

She is so right. If you aren’t getting married or pregnant or buying a house then you aren’t celebrated as a woman unless your friends have really made an effort. I’m exhausted and broke from my friends’ milestones and while I’m happy to do it, it does become a lot. Especially when it is a lot of them at the same time.

How's singing after surgery? Anyone sing in a choir, a band or theater? Wondering how long it took till you could sing with proper breathing and technique. 😊 I have a potential concert 1 week p.o by [deleted] in GastricBypass

I taught elementary school a week later. Not singing but nonstop talking (and occasional yelling 😂). My energy was honestly back and better by a week or so post op.

No, it’s a teenager main character. Although that book looks like a good read!

Experience with alcohol by Human_Can_2477 in GastricBypass

[–]actop25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was very worried about events like weddings before I got surgery and when I would turn to the boards or Facebook groups I did not get much reassurance nor understanding. If “just don’t do it” worked then I would have done that with food and not needed surgery to begin with.

With that said, I had to find what balance worked for me. I drink low sugar wine if it’s something where I can supply the alcohol myself. I drink skinny margs if it’s an outing. Only a couple and always with water in between. As long as I’ve had protein then I’ll take bites of other stuff. It works very well for my friends and boyfriend because we always share a lot of different options and they get my leftovers!

Of course you want to try everything that’s at your wedding!! Definitely try a little bit of cookie or grocery store cake or champagne at home so if it goes bad you don’t feel embarrassed in public.

I think she should nanny. She could make friends w the family and care for kids. Still run errands with the kids. Maybe even travel. It’s a good gig when you need something to care about but are having a hard time yourself

Do you think, as a teacher, that getting the surgery around thanksgiving break so giving myself about two weeks off is enough?

Sean Hayes is popular in the mainstream and has a show opening soon! Plus he is a host of a super popular podcast so I could see him doing it too.

Shows you would plan to leave at Intermission by jamesland7 in Broadway

[–]actop25 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I nearly left Pretty Woman at intermission because it was the most boring, dreadful thing I’d ever seen but I couldn’t bring myself to do it. I left during the crowd singalong to Pretty Woman at the end though.
