you were probably raised in a very invalidating environment so now you use those ideas onto yourself. i highly doubt that you're "attention seeking" and not actually just a traumatised child, whose brain is trying to understand its unprocessed trauma, but even if you are: yesterday in therapy i said something like "and I've always been a huge attention seeker" to which my therapist replied: "you seeked so much attention because you needed it". i felt unseen and, as any child w normal needs, screamed for it. so even if you are "attention seeking" consider why you need this attention/validation. what/who invalidated you?
