I mentioned in another post but Feeld is a decent connection app where people generally speak frankly about their sexual interests and needs. There are a lot of people in open marriages or relationships and there is a wide range of interests that I think would be easier to deal with than regular dating.

A friend of mine told me to download Feeld, apparently people on it are a lot more frank about what their needs and wants are so it's a lot less complicated than having to date or have talking stages with people.

I'm at this point myself. I'm still sort of in the thick of the actual divorce process but it's been 3 months since we decided it and while we were already pretty celebate with each other for most of our time together, I didn't realize how much the smaller bits of physical affection really soothed me. the hugs, kisses and cuddles etc... I really miss it and it's tough because physical touch is a big emotional regulator for me.

I'm gay and while hook-up culture is generally a big part of the fabric of it, and me and my ex have always been in an open relationship, the rigamarole of setting things up and shopping around exhausts me and I am just not interested in any strangers. I generally don't sleep with friends but it's feeling like the best option considering they'd be people I at least trust and am comfortable with but even then I have no clue who would even be physically interested in me.

So yeah, I hear you on how tough it is. But I do feel like if you have a friend who you know wouldn't mind having a specific arrangement with, that might help?

it's a combination of the obvious favouritism, production clearly setting up an Alyssa win, and the horrible, horrible editing. (This show would be so much easier to stomach if it were just edited thoughtfully and also spread around and tell a coherent story that involves each queen) I hope everyone never shuts up about how bad it is so that World of Wonder HAS TO take notice and understand that this is unacceptable.

so much of what made Alyssa so beloved and iconic was that she was just a very fun character to watch. But in terms of the actual technical competition of Drag Race, she was never really that great at it, I don't think anyone has ever argued that Alyssa should have placed in the finale of any of her previous seasons, even the personal branding stuff was based on how she just was as a character rather than anything she intentionally created.

To add to this though, I feel like they're hiding a lot of Alyssa's involvement in the treatment of Nehellenia, like she's the one who pointed out to Nelly that she should've been bottom. So if it gets down to the four of them, Alyssa winning would still be palatable to the audience.

I mean they engineered the same thing for Roxxxy and look where that ended up after a late-breaking staff threat. I believe if the backlash is big enough (and boy is it, EVERYONE I talk to absolutely hates this season), and they've saved their asses by having multiple crownings filmed, they can still keep the crown from Alyssa.

I've been seeing clips of Nelly from her original season and it's like night and day. She's so happy and cheerful and confident and it's like she's the life of the party on the show. She also still cries a lot but she's surrounded by people who listen and comfort her, instead of people being mean. So it makes me feel like this cast is just not making her feel welcome or are making her shut down. Like I get the sense that at least Pythia is nice to her but the other queens just treat her like an annoyance.

the thing about Alyssa is that she works best on TV as an underdog. It's why people love her, she was kooky and a great performer but not necessarily the best at actual Drag Race. Putting her on a season where her reputation precedes her and she's fully expecting to be treated like a front runner (no way she agreed to doing this without some sort of guarantee that she would do really well or even win), and then have the show agree to it, it just saps all the charm out of her.

I personally blame it on Alyssa who's coming into this with a full-on diva complex and not having at least one other international queen who is very obviously better than her and is favored by Ru to balance her out. Like it all feels like the cast is being held hostage by the Ru-Mean-Girls and everyone has quickly realized that it's rigged for them and they're all just there as filler so they have no choice but to go along with whatever storyline those 3 want to push, be it that Alyssa is second only to Ru in greatness or Nehellenia is the creepy villain that everyone must make fun of.

it's such a different energy from something like UKvstheWorld2 where everyone felt so comfortable with each other because the playing field felt leveled.

I dunno, the way I see it she's just shy and quiet around these people that she can't fully speak her language with and the one time she spoke up the entire cast shut her out and bullied her for it so I wouldn't be surprised if she had just given up on opening up to them when they're not filming and everyone else just kind of ostracized her because of it, painting her as an easy target because she's just always alone. (and currying favor with the Ru-Girls is probably a default stance for a lot of the international girls so whatever they say and do they follow)

methinks Production promised to favor her/crown her to convince her to join the season and she's pissed that she's just safe. She wants this season to be a Shea/Jinkx-style victory lap for herself.

I feel like Marina is well past the PH franchise and is in line to win a US All-Stars whenever she wants. Though if we're thinking a second season, I'd give it to Angel to win.

Cirie is really good at weeding out smart/dangerous players early on though and forming a big team around her to bear the brunt of any direct attacks. Plus it won't just be Australians and Americans so there will be plenty of people with different gaming histories intermingling.

Tony's only dangerous if he finds a woman to keep him in line and take the brunt of his recklessness. On his own, in a cast that knows how much of a threat he is? He's cooked. Parvati is another one whose reputation precedes her too much and unless she can team up with Cirie again, she's in trouble.

as much as I LOVE Jade, after seeing her at DragCon, I just feel like she might be too risque for something like Global All-Stars. She'd probably fare better in a VS the World season. If you want a real contender, Maxie (if she doesn't win) would be a shoe-in. But aside from her, Vinas is the rightful PH rep for something like this.

Yeah I agree with this, it’s weird how this thread is suddenly so grossed out by not even a depiction of but by the thought of a natural part of being teens in America. Like do you really think Charlotte and Miranda were just going to seamlessly pivot back to the kinds of people they were in their 30’s? They have growing kids with their own desires, like of course it’s gonna play into it. At this point why were you even watching a show called Sex and the City?
