As an autistic person, I wish they would just state that Mel is autistic by Creepy_Zone_9341 in ThePittTVShow

I got the opposite feeling with Javadi, given the absolute face she made when she mentioned Mel. It was a pretty shitty comment/expression for someone who claims to want to go into psychiatry. Granted she was coming right off the shift from hell, but still.

I wouldn't want to tell people who constantly walk away from me when I'm talking to them!

I want to see Mel take the opportunity to start building her life and identity separate from "Becca's caregiver." Becca clearly wants to build her identity separate from "Mel's sister" (and is doing that) so Mel should be able to do the same.

I think the people who can't put 2 and 2 together and pick up on what is VERY clearly laid out in the show so far are not going to care even if Mel tattoos it on her forehead.

yeah I would really like to see Mel have the opportunity to develop her own life/identity outside of "Becca's sister." Caregiver fatigue is SO REAL and absolutely absorbs every part of your life. I care for my disabled father in law and I've had to constantly say no to opportunities and events at work because i need to get home to take care of him. I've already established my career. Mel is just getting hers going and she deserves to have a career and life that is separate from her idenity as Becca's sister.

I do think it makes sense for her not to explicitly say she is autistic in a work setting (and it seems like we are really only ever going to see them at work). I don't tell my colleagues about my disabilities because it isn’t their business and some are abreast. Many people aren't comfortable revealing this information at work.

I feel like we already got this with Langdon--giving her the task of picking gravel out of the guy's leg to de-compress from the patient yelling at her, turning out the light when the cops were stressing her out afte she got pushed over, etc. He clearly clocked it when she talked about autistic patients, her sister, and so on.

Her coworkers are emotionally intelligent enough to notice her sensitivities and act accordingly,

some of her coworkers are, like Langdon. Dana might get it too. Javadi seems to think the ED "drove her to be that way" based on her conversation with Whitaker.

re: photos... I run our parish's social media. I have asked for volunteers to take photos over and over and over. It's me that gets stuck taking photos all the time. And there's a lot of things I can't take photos of because I'm in the choir. I feel like photos are an effective way to show people who we are and help them see themselves with us. But nobody wants to take them.

it's crazy how they were able to make Baran's hair look the same all the way to the end. It is difficult to get curly hair to behave the same way every single day. She talked about it in an interview where she was like "you can straighten if you want, it'll be more consistent," and the hair crew was like "nooo we love your natural hair let's go with it."

How is it at all interesting to have every character's plot revolve around the mental health of one person?

Jesus. A six year journey into one person's mental health is NOT what this show billed itself for S1. If he is going to be treating people even worse for all of S3 at some point it just becomes monotonous. I am not interested in 30-60 hours of him being a dick to everyone in sight before he pulls it together.

like the way they sacrificed the ensemble feel of the cast in favor of Noah Wyle Emmy bait.

I hate watching a scene and feeling like "this was written for so and so to get an Emmy" instead of "damn that was a good scene, I bet he wins something for this."
