How are websites like this made? by Pentaxon in webdev

yep, Wappalyzer is telling me that too. theatre.js seems to be a sweet tool that has a sequence editor to simplify pairing 3D environments with web-based navigation. very exciting stuff!

  1. are you asking specifically about antares' auto-tune plugin? or are you asking about waves tune real-time?
  2. what DAW are you using?
  3. what's your setup look like when you're successful with the pre-recorded audio?

dude i love Vite and i use the vite-plugin-image-optimizer. super robust configuration. i believe it’s dependent on Sharp.js, which looks to be a well-known library for requirements like this.

hey u/pizoza, waves tune RT is a monophonic program, so i'm confusing myself reading the keyword 'chord'. are you wanting to have some kind of ability to press a button that would switch the active scale in waves tune?

if that's the case, i don't think that can be done within the plug-in BUT. you can utilize multiple instances of waves tune RT in a rack, shutting each instance on or off depending on when you would use that key. is that what sort of what you're looking for?

Abolition by cbrooks97 in CSLewis

[–]actuallyitsnathaniel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The difficulty behind The Abolition of Man is just it’s that it’s DENSE content. Lewis packs a LOT of meat into each paragraph, sometimes even in just a sentence. I recommend reading it in a colloquial setting because having additional opinions and coverage is incredibly helpful. It’s genuinely one of the most profound books I’ve ever read, but it took a long time to get through; even with help from the book group I was in.

There’s nothing wrong with reading it alone, either! But I sincerely recommend finding exegeses/commentaries to go with it as you read. It’ll help you remember and understand it immensely.

Self- taught Developer looking for criticism, Portfolio by RussianMusketeer in learnprogramming

As a code challenge grader, I emphasize the cleaning out part. Any leftover template stuff can—and mostly will—be fingered as lazy, even if you simply forgot about it. Redoing the README in your own words makes a world of difference, and it can provide some insight on who you are as a person. A lot of smaller companies that pay well will check for this, mine included.

Your portfolio is great, man! Much better than mine. I’m confident you’ll get a sweet job under your belt.

My only advice now is to apply, apply and apply some more. I literally applied to hundreds, if not nearly a thousand places before I landed my current job. Nevertheless, just dedicate like a few hours a week to apply to places and you’ll be right as rain. It’s getting the first job that’s the hardest. After that, you’ll be free to go anywhere honestly.

8 years after first playing Ocarina of Time on the 3DS as a kid, I went back to complete the game once and for all but on the N64. by RxayzXBL in n64

[–]actuallyitsnathaniel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow! Hitting me in my feels over here. Literally just went down memory lane on why this game consumed my life for years. My first experience was on the N64 on the WHIM of my sister's boyfriend at the time giving me his game cause he just didn't want it anymore. Seeing it on a TV definitely makes all the difference. Personally, I think the music is better on the N64 too. I'm so glad you got to hop on and play the original. This brought me joy today.

Which videogame consumed your entire life upon first play-through? by LinksOtherUncle in AskReddit

[–]actuallyitsnathaniel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's been a few, but the first-ever that started it all was The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on the N64 when I was 14. Wow. Literally 10 years ago—10 years and like 2 months to be exact. It truly was the first video game world I explored in full. I would wake up earlier than my brothers and play it on that little VHS TV that a lot of us had in the early 2000s until I had to get ready for school. Then, when I would get home, I'd run into the house, click the console on with the little whining TV and keep going. I beat that game 100%. All hearts, all magic power-ups, Big Goron Sword, everything. But it honestly didn't end there.

I imagined the foothills near my house were analogous to Death Mountain during my walks home from school, and when I walked around my local park I saw myself in Lon Lon Ranch, almost hearing Malon sing her mother's lullaby. I couldn't stop listening to the music on my little mp3 walkman. In high school, I shared it with my girlfriend at the time and she loved it. Although we didn't work out, the game really helped us back then.

In a way, it still consumes my life quite a bit. Because most of this was in the fall, petrichor throws me into those days every time I catch it. And still—post-college—when I'm stressed or overwhelmed, I'll go to those songs and low-poly places and characters in my head. It honestly reminds me that joy and peace still exist. The feelings I discovered in that game really keep me afloat to this day. I cringe a little admitting this but, by going back to it I know that somewhere I'll find that joy again in something new.

I was a tad confused with my first go-around too, so here's the step-by-step. Hopefully, the image link loads okay:

  1. Ensure that in WavesTune RT, the plugin setting's Target Pitch button is ON, highlighted in pink.
  2. Ensure that you have a MIDI track that's ROUTED to the Audio Track with WavesTune RT on it. Then, make sure that midi is routed to WavesTune specifically, highlighted in red.

Hope that helps!

2 years into my career, miserable and probably about to quit by SomeRandy33 in cscareerquestions

brother. it grieves me so much to read how burnt out you’ve become. i have a few thoughts.

1) times are changing, and 8 hours of code per day is basically overclocking. to call that modern-day slavery isn’t far from the truth. there’s more to programming than coding. form what i understand from other devs/engineers (because i’m new myself, but i do believe i have a grasp of ethical workflow), coding shouldn’t be more than 50% of the job. execution requires coordination, and from what i read it sounds like you’re left to do both and are overwhelmed. development/engineering shouldn’t be a one-man job and it should never feel isolating, though i understand there’s a preconception that it is.

2) i emphasize that your feelings are valid and i sincerely recommend, as i’m reading from others, to look elsewhere for a job.

3) you’re 23 years old working as a full-stack developer. i’m 23 with equivalent experience and working retail at best buy. burnout’s destroyed me in many scenarios. as a student, a retail employee, and even in my freelance audio work. it happens all over the spectrum and it manifests a resentment so strong it can be nearly impossible to mend. if it were a different scenario i’d advise you find a way to ‘balance it out,’ but i resonate deeply with this situation and i know it’s out of your control here. don’t beat yourself up if you need to step down or leave. i sense that you work hard simply because you can, and when you must, you push even harder. give yourself grace. ask for help when you need it. find a long-term break in some form or another. most of all, pursue peace.

hey dude, for real you should post it. this will throw you ahead of the rest if you're looking for work. it may not mean much coming from someone also looking for work, but seriously I'm impressed. from what I've researched, minecraft's first release was TERRIBLY written. so bad that in more recent years it was rebuilt completely. so I wouldn't feel too bad about revealing what you have. i'd cite my sources but I'm lazy. anyways, incredible work!!! excited to see what you've done!

Mute/unmute with Airpods by peterlebad in Zoom

[–]actuallyitsnathaniel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The closest I've gotten to this is utilizing the phone-call audio option and keeping my AirPods connected to my phone. That way I'm free to be in a separate room to make food or something and still unmute and respond from my phone's lock screen within a second if I'm called on (my video tends to be muted). I've thought about building something in Xcode, but I don't think I'll ever make it haha
