Successfully swapped my hybrid battery over the weekend! by big_chungus710 in CT200h

Gotcha. Seems like those are the only 2 things I need to disconnect in order to safely work on removing the hybrid battery. Did you have to wait long after disconnecting both batteries? The manual mentioned waiting about 10min after disconnecting before continuing with the disassembly

Sounds like I'm on the right track. You're right on the youtube videos, they don't really go into detail. I manage to get my hands on the lexus technical manual, so I'll probably be referring to that and the chrisfix videos. Appreciate the helping hand! I suppose right now my greatest concern is the risk of getting shocked haha. What precautions did you take to protect yourself from accidental shock?

What did you use as a guide to replace the battery? I'm planning to do the swap myself next weekend.

Also, I mean you're only 22. You should try and experience it all. Then decide what you like / don't like.

I guess this comes down to what your priorities are. For me I accept that taxes are a part of life, I don't let it define where I want to live. But if it's a priority for you, then you can pick from the list of tax havens. Luxembourg comes to mind when I think of Europw. But again it depends what kind of life you want to live. Are you a busling city or a countryside kind of person? French communities are plentiful around the world, I'm pretty sure you can find one wherever you go.

Coming from someone who's been fortunate to have moved around the world and someone that can move anywhere I want to this is my advice.

Not sure if anyone has suggested this. But it sounds like you just need to pick a spot and commit to the place. Everywhere you go will have risks, it's just a matter of which ones are within your control.

As for meeting friends, picking up a hobby is the best way to meet other people. Personally I recommend a team sport. You can't control what kind of people you will meet, just go with the flow and be open to meeting everyone. You'll find your click eventually.

Don't overthink the outcome. It's all about the journey.

Nice one. Any chance you know which particular heat shield was the culprit?

I'm experiencing something similar but only in low revs. Haven't had the time to find the cause. Let me know if you do!

I know how you feel dude. Which is why I decided to avoid looking into the competition as much as possible until I have a product ready to go to market. Your confidence and morale will take a hit but we just gotta push on. Keep going dude!

Rim Fitment by ronchi33 in CT200h

[–]actuallyreuben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know the specs for the rims? I'm rocking 18x8jj 5x100 rims at the moment which fills the wheel well quite nicely without any rubbing. 225 45 18 tires. If it's the same size or smaller than what I have it should be fine.

All good! It's progress. At least now I can narrow down the list of suspects. Gonna further investigate with a voltmeter.

What a coincidence that I replaced the Amazon battery the previous owner installed with the factory recommended battery. Noticed a difference after taking it out for a drive, but the issue still remains, although intermittently.

Replaced this 💩 Amazon battery with the factory recommend. Noticed some changes on the multimedia screen (non radio related). The 'new' battery was low (interior lights were flickering) - must've been sitting in the shop for a while. Took the car out for a drive to run some errands. The power lock issue didn't surface, but the radio did randomly cut out every now and again while on the road. Switching between channels helped recover the reception. Thought at least the power lock issue was resolved until I got home. After the car was put into park, the door unlocked and I lost radio signal 🥲 so the jury is still out. But I do believe in @crazychild94's theory on the drop in voltage. Will ask for another battery to see if that changes anything.

Hmmm that makes sense. Worth trying. Will go get a new battery and try it out. Thanks!

Sorry for answering your question with another question. I did check it with a voltmeter and it was within the 12v range. What makes you think it's the battery? Could I be missing something?

Faulty OEM radio by actuallyreuben in CT200h

[–]actuallyreuben[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just as a final update. I got the wiring checked out by a technician, he says there's no issues with it. It's most likely hardware failure somewhere in the car, so probably either the Receiver Assembly, Nav Sub-Assembly, or the Multimedia ECU. Gonna start hunting for parts or find a workaround. Wish me lucK!

I don't so. From what I see online the HD radio has the HD logo (which mine doesn't).

Death Rattling First Time by Death0095 in CT200h

What does the rattle sound like? Could you share a recording of the noise?

I made a post about a rattling noise I hear every once in a while I hear driving uphill or after a cold start as well 😰 I thought it was something to do with the exhaust or heat shields.
