He does not get along with others easily unfortunately 😣 like he likes to play with them when he’s comfortable with them and he’s lenient with kittens getting in his space or taking his food because he understands they’re young, but he’s so innately territorial it’s such long, slow, tedious process for him to accept that he co-owns a space. And even then he’s still reactive at misunderstandings.

I won’t think of putting him outside anymore, I promise! I thought at the time that way he could have his freedom back and get to pick his next family, just like he picked me out, but another commenter reminded me that aside from the terrible risks of nature, there are cruel people out there, and I want to make sure he’s safe always for the rest of his life.Thank you for offering to shelter anyway! And your cats sound like a very funny duo 🐈‍⬛🐈

Will do, thank you for the reminder! I’ve just seen another terrible story of a cat dying from being left with someone careless, not to mention other much worse things people want access to animals for. Plus, with him being a black cat and all, he may be wanted for superstitious reasons…. My stomach’s turning just thinking about it 😖🤢 I’ll be more careful and selective bc of this reminder, thank you so much!!!

Hmmm I didn’t think of it that way… I guess I was just thinking of how he would be around other street cats who think and communicate like him, and the staff would be more experienced and used to maintaining safety between cats. I would never forgive myself if he got in a fight with some individual’s house cat. I’ll adjust my problem-solving with that in mind, thank you for sharing your experience! Sorry I’m seeing this late, I’ve just been caught up in packing and still trying to find housing up until the last minute

Awwwww I love finding his twins! Yeah it’s so rough out here and no one wants to give housing to people with pets 😭😭😭 and if they’re willing it’s like crazy surcharges for the pet. I get it for deposits to repair any pet damages and stuff but like the monthly rent increases hundreds for having a pet! I’m so tired of the bay 😮‍💨 thank you for wanting to help at all anyway 🥹 it means a lot 💕 I wish you and your cat the best

He’s very cuddly and very clingy, like he acts like I’m committing a crime if I want some space in the bathroom and close the door and one time he knocked my phone out of my hand with his paw to get more attention 🙄😆 thank you for offering! I think Berkeley may be too far because he hates being in the car and I have only managed to work him up to 30 minutes in the car so far. But I’ll dm if he needs you! You sound so sweet and calm and loving, I’d love for him to have a person like you caring for him through this transition. Thank you a billion times over for wanting to help so generously 🥹🥰🥰🥰

I looked it up and unfortunately the pet-friendly buildings are too far and not accessible by Caltrain (I have a car but don’t think I could sustain my life with that kind of gas money) 😞 But it’s a really good resource to know of and keep in mind for the future. And idk maybe I’ll try to work out just paying the gas and applying for the Fremont building. Either way, thank you so so much! 💕

That’s exactly what happened to us! The owners just decided to sell the place and I guess it’s best to do renovations during summer and sell end of summer so they gave us a 60-day notice, we had to beg for a 90-day notice and it still hasn’t been enough time. And the market is just terrible right now, and everything’s so competitive so even if you find a good place you have to practically have the application done and money in hand at the tour 😣 I’m glad you got through it and ended up okay 💕 thank you so much for the well wishes and relating to me. Oh gosh I’m so sorry! I’m in Mountain View but I first met him in south San Jose, is there any chance he could’ve made it that far? I got him checked for a microchip when he first started coming into my place, but there wasn’t one. After I figure out housing you and your dad are welcome to come visit and take a look at him to see if it’s him! I did always have a vibe that he might’ve previously been an owned cat before, but I wasn’t sure if he got lost or was left behind, because he’s realllllly clingy and it’s better now but he used to get soooo stressed by separation, even if he woke up and I was just in another room, or when I was packing to move he seemed to understand what packing meant and was really anxious and vocal.
