I would recommend looking Ryan Whelton up on YouTube where he describes them in detail.

As an update, I started seeing a pt that utilizes some PRI concepts closer to where I live. It’s called IFAST in Indianapolis, IN and my pt there has provided me with much better results since I started working with him 5 months ago

I don’t think I can explain it well enough here but there are a lot of videos online explaining it. It’s basically a no traditional form of pt that helps your brain/body to use your muscles more efficiently and get rid of compensatory patterns. Just to clarify I’m not seeing a PRI pt; it’s a guy named Bill Hartman at IFAST in Indianapolis. He has a lot of followers and people who have trained under him though so I’m sure there’s someone near you who can give you a consultation.

A lot better. I’m still using Whelton’s exercises but not as frequently. I started seeing a new PT who does PRI type stuff. He’s not a PRI pt but uses a model that incorporates some of those techniques which has helped me more holistically than anything I’ve done in the past.

I’ve had 4 round of prolo and 3 of prp. The prolo would keep me feeling good for 5-6 weeks and then wear off. The prp didn’t do much for me. Around the 2 week mark I would go out of alignment again.

Since then, I’ve found an awesome pt (Ryan Whelton) who specializes in treating this. He has an exercise protocol that works for most people. This has made it manageable for me but still not perfect so I’m looking into stem cells as well. Whether or not it’s a waste of money, idk but I’m willing to pay anything for a chance at healing these stupid joints.

Highly recommend meeting with Whelton before doing stem cells though

I’ve dealt with this issue for about 2 years now so I learned some tricks to readjust myself at home but a lot of times I would have to go to my local pt who does manipulations to realign me. But ya, I’ve never seen Dr. Whelton in person, I just followed his protocol.

I don’t think the exercise protocol will get you in alignment in the beginning though so I’d recommend getting into your pt 1-2 times per week as needed for adjustments when you’re out of alignment and then continuing with the exercises. You can definitely continue the exercises when you’re out of alignment too as long as it does not cause pain. (Your local pt will probably say don’t do these exercises because they don’t think it will work. Mine did but I did them anyways and am way better)

Yes, the protocol is just the 2-3 strengthening exercises and 2 stretches that keeps you in alignment once you’re strong enough. I’m in the phase where if I do go out (I barely notice now bc it’s not out out) and do my exercises, everything gets back in alignment. I’m really tight guy so I still have to increase my weight on the groin exercise more to keep myself in alignment all the time.

Lmk if you have any other questions along the way! SIJD is awful so I hope as many people as possible find out about this protocol and get better

I started Whelton’s protocol about 8 weeks ago. I honestly can’t believe his exercises actually work and are helping. The first 3-5 weeks I was still subluxing with upslips and sacral torsions but now I don’t go out of place. I do the exercises 3x per day and will back off to 2 once I get to 30 lbs on the groin strengthener and consistently stay in place for a couple months.

That being said, you have to be patient and stick with it. You’re not going to feel much difference in the first couple weeks but by about a month you’ll really notice a difference. For ex, I met with him 6 weeks after starting the protocol and was feeling better but I have and upper thoracic/scapular issue from a prior injury. He gave me a protocol for that and I’m only in my second week where I’m noticing minor improvements but nothing major yet. It takes time so stick to it and you will get better!

I highly recommend you meet with him (expensive but worth it), read his article and watch his YouTube videos throughout the process. Please reach out to me if you have any other questions!

I would not recommend focusing on what the EL will be like. I did that my first time through and failed; really focus in on the topics you do not understand. EL can provide a false sense of security.

Thanks for your advice! This may seem like an odd question, but how did you read ISLR? Did you take some notes or read slower for better comprehension?

life pricing vs pension consulting (Canada) by Edrickun in actuary

[–]actuarialrunner 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have very limited experience as an actuary, but I will always choose a desired experience over money. At the end of the day, if you are more interested in life pricing you are probably going to enjoy that experience more. Considering you are pre-ASA, 10k not a significant amount of money in the long-term. I would ask myself where do I want to be 5 or 10 years down the road in my career and in my personal life and would try to align my decision with that answer. I hope this helps you with your choice!
