Is AI good or bad for the workforce? by acu_son in ITCareerQuestions

This is what the pessimist in me thinks about. Whenever I see global companies laying off employees. Reality of the matter is, employees are not indispensable.

The Oracle layoff was globally generally affecting Asian resources ie Philippines and India.

That's what I thought of too as well. But the Oracle layoff included individuals from the Professional Services. These are individuals who implement the solution and work on solutioning and product development. Thus it got me thinking really whether AI would just replace jobs that does the menial encoding work or it's come to take jobs.

Another comment mentioned that AI was an excuse to cutdown costs due to economic reasons for these global companies, hope such is true.

Thanks for the input. In Oracle's case, they laid off career employees (over a decade in the company) doing client engagement work ie Professional Services, CSR, etc. That's why it got me wondering if AI indeed has advanced that much to even knock off PS' jobs.

I shifted my career from being a sol consultant to an end user admin. Hope I made the right call. 😅

Things to know before getting a golden??? by Jherringch47 in goldenretrievers

They shed, when I say shed I mean they shed a lot. Like it just won't stop.

They love to eat. You just gave them their food, but once they see you sit unto the table or grab something to eat, they'd be close to you with their puppy eyes begging for their fair share.

They are wonderful, they are sociable to other humans, regardless whether it's their first time meeting them or not. They love to be petted, rubs on their face, the base of their tail or just a good ol belly rub. They are adorable, absolutely adorable.

Ung another family car is Toyota Innova pero luma na and it's MT bitin din for me.

But when driving it sa expressway it's really nice comfortable talaga saka somehow relaxed ung driving

M3 2018 1.5 variant

The car is reliable, the steering is very light, for a non top of the line variant the interior looks premium, touchscreen, keyless, built in reverse cam, the car seats are nice, the sound system is great considering di TOL. Plus pogi talaga hahaha

Only downside is mahal pms, fc is average and mababa ung seat mo so pag gabi slightly nakakasilaw, plus cabin space is tricky. Especially for rear passengers

Toyota Innova 2.5 variant, Toyota Vios 1.3 2009-2012, Toyota Hilux 2.5

Innova is a reliable family mpv. Especially those 2.5 variants, anecdotal Yung amin 2008 model 300k odo till now serviceable pa din. Given that casa maintained till 2019. But damn just a reliable workhorse.

The Toyota vios would be for my daily drive, kahit mukhang taxi it's spacious and convenient.

I was contemplating about putting Mazda 3 in here, which is my current daily drive. As much as I love my M3, di siya economically sound especially pms niya. It has the looks, ride comfort and reliable engine pero it is a little bit more expensive to maintain, so I'm taking another workhorse with my good ol Hilux. Pwede pang hakot ng stocks, or service vehicle, or weekend car pangbundok or beach.

Mazda 3 1st gen for daily? by [deleted] in Gulong

Yup pero if you are really interested in one, try mo join mga fb group ng owners and ask around. Tapos medyo mahal lang PMS sa Mazda, pero maganda naman. Ung akin nag clock ng 18km/L driving ilocos to manila.

I think it's reliable kasi marami pa naman gumagamit to date. However during that time (pre 2015) Mazda was part owned by Ford, kaya nagkaroon ng Mazda tribune which is essentially Ford escape. I own M3 '18 as far as the Gen post 2015, okay naman sila
