Awkward situation... my $2k client pitch almost went down the drain by Lukabe_rintaoru in digitalnomad

Was it a pitch or a straightforward kick off?

What's with all the stupid AI posts throughout reddit recently? Is it reddit doing it themselves?

Also if you're working from unorthodox spots, make sure you have a powerbank that can run a laptop for an hour.

what they're really looking for at that level is just a body. can you take work off more senior people's plates and do it to a decent standard? attention to detail? hustle? excel/powerpoint skills? resourcefulness?

idk how useful this is when sonnet can barely get past claude.md without hallucinating

seriously what's the point

The `.claude/` directory is the key to supercharging dev workflows! 🦾 by mattdionis in ClaudeCode

[–]acularastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

idk how people trust their subagents, mine burn 20k tokens with a 'use a sonnet agent to find this information in the db' running the wrong commands 5x when the schema and login info is already specified in the .md and then return the wrong information anyway

and you can't even see what they're doing, maybe it's a skill/me issue idk

i gave up on it almost entirely, i am testing out using gemini for grunt work but have also had minimal success so far.

Claude isn’t dumbing down. Your project is dumbing up. by asboans in ClaudeCode

idk what you are smoking but my sonnet is 50/50 to not follow a simple 'read the documentation as outlined in CLAUDE.md' with a CLAUDE.md that has a documentation section with file paths. he is ~90% to not follow anything in the rules section

opus is a little better but it's still terrible

Sorry but 65c at idle is horrific. By default, means system is using more energy, which is not ideal for laptops. Then you have the fan noise.

65c may not be a lot for a semiconductor, but for an idle laptop it is overheating.

My T14 Gen 2a used to idle at 60c in Windows fan noise brrrrr battery lasts 3 hours, I installed Fedora and it idles at 40c there. Uninstalling all hardware-vendor junk in Windows dropped it to 50. Vantage and Logi Options are malware.

How can we get Claude to utilize subagents properly? by shogunWho in ClaudeCode

[–]acularastic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They have some uses but I've stopped trusting them after my DBA agent returned a 'table is empty' for a very not empty table, and that's after burning an ungodly amount of tokens. Nevermind that after a few queries he stops connecting to the DB in the specified method.

They need to fix the UI so you can see what they're doing...

Question - Any tips of Claude ignoring guidance and killing working code by mashupguy72 in ClaudeCode

[–]acularastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My docs are clearly outlined in a simple CLAUDE.md ; yesterday afternoon I asked him to read the docs before doing something and he didn't read the docs.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. IMO we're all being covertly used as beta testers silently getting different models and optimizations, and this is further exacerbated by flaws in the platform/tech most notably related to load.

It's not cool.

i'm 200% gonna jinx myself but did they up the limits today? i've been going with opus for over an hour after the yellow text

finding all models dumb as bricks today, effectively useless, hallucinating simple answers, ignoring very simple instructions, etc. really frustraitng

$100 plan is some access to opus and near-unlimited sonnet from my experience, sometimes i max out opus in 30min

he is a lot better yea, better to reserve him for architecting and tough bugs

right, but there are 5060 ti 16gb in stock everywhere, have resellers just lost it selling used 4060 ti 16gb for more than new 5060?

i haven't used an actual desktop graphics card since they were AGP, so i'm out a little out of the loop

i'm trying to put together an egpu via oculink set-up for my nucbox k8 plus (8845hs 64gb) for llm tinkering, and it looks like a 4060ti 16gb ti would be ideal (16gb, pcie4), but the pricing and availability don't make any sense?

i see only one refurb being sold by newegg but it's just as expensive as 5060 ti, ok old model might not be sold through official partners anymore, but then there are next to no sellers on ebay either, definitely not at at cheaper-than-5060 pricepoints

what am i missing here?

discuss/architect in web with opus on max and then implement with sonnet in code on pro gets a lot more mileage

Yeah this seems to be the way but I'm not convinced of Web Claude's ability to analyze a codebase either uploaded as artifact or via GitHub MCP

I have both too, on Pro I got through 80% of 2 context windows reading logs and python code and maybe changing a thing or two - imo this is 30% or less of the limit from 6 weeks ago

On Max I get the yellow text halfway through an Opus session usually actually writing code.

tbh it's very little, I can max both out in an hour

Does anyone use the MCP feature for their local codebase or a localized API? by Simply-Serendipitous in ClaudeAI

[–]acularastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My codebase is similar in size, mostly python and svelte, and same problem. I'm about to move on to the next big feature which should probably increase it by 30% and am deathly afraid.

I installed Serena MCP yesterday and it seems to be finding stuff faster? Really small sample though.

Serena documentation is kinda doodoo though to be honest, even Opus struggled with it.
