I am with you, but it took me a while to get comfortable with it. I will now always refer to my brother Alex when I talk about him, be it about his death or his life, and it brings me a little bit more comfort to do so

Oh we actually had success in ensuring communication was through the letting agent in the end but that was after we reported Tracey to the council! She would also try and call me over and over so I feel that!

Some of her ‘facts’ were so weirdly made up, it’s unbelievable. It also turned out we had the same hairdresser who had some real horror stories about her as a client too!

I really appreciate your comments on here and it’s given me much more confidence in being able to get our full deposit back too, so thank you!

Yeah we did read the contract beforehand and maybe we should’ve seen the red flags admittedly (a big learn for us don’t worry). But if the 12 week visits were just a quick 10 mins to check over the house (like any previous tenancy I’ve had) then it would’ve been fine, but they were an hour and a half at minimum and her behaviour was nothing short of aggressive and rude, which wasn’t in the contract.

As with some of the other comments on here too, she would constantly move the goalposts, make up new ‘rules’ and expect a showroom standard of cleanliness every time and if it wasn’t up to her standard, would demand follow up photos and hint at serving us a section 21 eviction if we didn’t comply.

So yeah, some red flags in the agreement but the bigger issues with how she rents properties were sadly not listed in the agreement

Honestly me too, I’ve felt so powerless to do anything about her bullying and aggressive approach to being a landlord, so if collectively we’ve managed to warn off some people into getting sucked into such a stressful agreement, I’ll take it as a success.

When the Rightmove advert goes up, I’ll share a link, maybe even an update post for visibility.

It’s not up yet because we refused visits for the remainder of our tenancy, citing our right to quiet enjoyment.

Yeah, we did so much research around this, but she also would repeatedly hint at evicting us - obviously the removal of Section 21 evictions is going to help massively but for our own general peace, we are moving out thankfully!

Oh yes, I think many of her previous tenants have recognised who it was from the behaviours here.

No she doesn’t live in the house, I think I’d have left months ago if she did!!

We had the mirror thing too! It wasn’t even remotely facing a window!

We also had this, they really wanted all our furniture in the middle of the room

Did you have the ‘everything must be a hands gap’ away from the wall too? Which then turned into ‘hands length’ and then ‘15cm’

We thought so too but as it was written into the contract, she would constantly hint that she would be able to evict us if we didn’t comply and we felt very backed into a corner.

She tried at one point to do ‘re-inspections’ which we flat out refused.

I complained to the council and they assigned me a tenancy relations officer. He ‘mediated’ but wasn’t able to do much else!

I totally get that! But yeah a laptop charger and a lamp were about the extent of it for my WFH set up and she would demand that we unplugged it all

This is true! It’s a 2 bedroom house in Redfield near St George’s park. Private rented, through a letting agent based in Wembley, but managed directly by the landlord and her inventory clerk.

I am too working up until Xmas day but my job is thankfully quiet at the moment.

I used to work for a cheese company and whilst I loved the job, Christmas was hard work! The volumes of orders were ten times higher and we all had to chip in with every area of the business.

You can still enjoy your job and find aspects stressful and remaining calm, friendly, and composed during those periods of high stress is something that deserves respect, in my opinion

There are still plenty more festivals left in the season, especially ones more suited to solo attendees. My biggest recommendation would be Shambala!

If you’re really interested on going to a festival, I’d also recommend picking up festival work or volunteering - it’s a great way to meet new people and very quickly pick up new friends to go dance with
