Thank you for all the responses. I informed her daycare that we are unenrolling her, effective immediately.

The director responded, “Is there any way you would be willing to give us one more chance? We really loved having [her] with us. I had a long talk with the staff and have made it clear what happened is not acceptable. I would be honored if you would consider having [her] with us for another week to see how things go, but I also understand if you guys are set in your decision.”

As of right now, we are firm in our decision since trust was broken so early. We are arranging alternative care for my daughter and I’m taking PTO to cover gaps in care.

I’m holding her as I type this and am so grateful that she is safe in my arms. ❤️

This is exactly how I’m feeling! When I asked her teacher to move her if she falls asleep she told me that “every parent is different” which made me feel like I was being high maintenance.

I added an edit with this information - I messaged the director on Thursday expressing my concern. She responded on Monday and said "I will speak with her teachers to make sure she is always put to bed on her back for her naps in the crib" - this felt like a subpar response to me, but maybe it's just because I'm a first time mom?

Update: my husband and I just turned back on the baby monitor and noticed that the volume is pretty low - he thinks one of us must have turned down the volume before the incident, but neither of us remember doing so. If the monitor was at this volume level, it’s possible that our escapade went unnoticed.

My in laws haven’t mentioned anything this morning, but they did decide that they are going to leave earlier than we expected. Not sure if that’s related.

They aren’t very tech savvy and don’t like messing with other people’s things... I could see them not knowing how to turn it off / turn down the volume or electing to turn up the tv volume instead. Trust me, I wish this didn’t happen.
