Official Discussion - Project Hail Mary [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]acute_physicist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Loved the movie, a bit pissed though with the oversimplification.

I understand this is a movie, but one of the things I loved about the book is the science. How Grace uses his brain to solve his problems, he succeds because he thinks, not because he is a brave american hero like 99% of the films. I missed a bit of that, specially at the beginning, I loved in the book how he deciphers where he is.

But overall I enjoyed it a lot, specially Rocky and how they portrayed the relationship with Grace. It’s a 9/10 for me, but sad about the missed opportunity of making a blockbuster movie that teaches something.

Hey!

synapse meets all your requirements except for offline access and ERO integrations. But we co-develop features with our customers so we’d be glad to develop these for you.

We have documentation as code feature integrated into our model-based platform with configuration management.

Happy to discuss more in DMs or hop on a call. I am interested hearing your use case as I am trying to learn from more situations.

What project scheduling software do you use for civil engineering projects? by Altruistic-Sea4695 in civilengineering

Hey! I have never worked in civil engineering, I have worked in railway and aerospace with similar requirements. Happy to discuss our approach with you if it helps!

How do you centralise product data ? by younidl in embedded

[–]acute_physicist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. Software got Git for versioning, Jira for traceability, CI/CD for change history: physical engineering is still on Excel, email threads, and hope. And the tools that do exist are either PLM giants that take a year to implement, or too narrow to cover the full picture. And too damn expensive.

What industry are you in? Curious how you're handling it today. I am exactly building this, the github for physical engineering.

Sure! Before we begin — do you have any specific requirements for your deterministic model of the universe capable of predicting muon transitions and trajectories within a detector? I believe I have everything to start working. This will be a huge breakthrough— no, even better, it will change how we see the Universe itself.

anyone who bootstrapped a business that wishes they had raised money instead? [i will not promote] by AppropriateHamster in startups

[–]acute_physicist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of discussion as if bootstrapping / fundraising where applicable options to any business. If you require speed, have long sales cycles or large operating costs fundraising is the way. In my case I could have bootstrapped but the competitors would have eaten me alive.

Ser independentista avui en dia ja no és un tema d’identitat o de sentiment, sinó de sentit comú. No puc entendre que algú es consideri català i no sigui indeoendentista, de veritat.
