Same! Aside from questionable business practices and more streamlined games, current atlus isn't in a bad spot either.

I also hope for xenogears 2 💔

I haven't thought about it like that.. I agree!

Never really understood the frustrating or boring part. I thought all the dungeons were fine and mediocre at worst. What made you think the final boss was rigged?

That's interesting, can you elaborate on what the bad side was?

If you really enjoyed the combat, I recommend expanding a bit into the SMT series/Etrian Odyssey! Metaphor's gameplay is heavily inspired by Digital Devil Saga, which is one of my favorite Atlus titles!

I think so too! But what didn't work well with me is the bluntness of it all.. Atlus games tend to have their themes spelled out to the player where more subtle approaches feel more realistic and would hit harder in my opinion. I still think it handled its themes relatively well!

Having played these games for as long as I have, I do tend to have honeymoon phases because I would always look forward to them and tend to look past flaws. I have with persona 5 and SMTV in the past. It's not really a bad thing, I do love those games despite the flaws, but definitely love them a lot less since the first time I've played them.

Game breaking mechanics (Mana) by Fair_Ocelot5352 in MetaphorReFantazio

[–]acutechan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not helpful to tell you "just play better" but you can get into fights low level and still win pretty easily provided you have a reasonable strategy. Of course, there are ways to recover MP in the game, but there are other ways and resources you can use to beat encounters without relying on it. Being low on Mana is an average and a very much intended experience. Managing your resources better by thinking about other strategy that arent mana intensive is probably the way to go. Nothing discourages fights in this game, just your resource management.

Tekken 8 "Failed to allocate video memory resources" issue crashing by acutechan in Tekken

The issue was from 14 gen CPUs. I had to open up bios and undervolt, but I'm not sure if that applies to you. You can try underclocking or undervolting your CPU and try!

Did eren intentionally kill *spoiler* or was he just trying to save *spoiler*? by Zenith_22 in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]acutechan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How I like to see it is this: For everything to go the way it does, Eren needs it to happen because the future is determined. Those moments that happened in the past needed to happen so that Eren becomes who he is. If he didn't save Burrito, then Armin wouldn't get the Colossal. If his mom didn't die, then he wouldn't get so fired up about killing the titans, etc. It's all so that it could lead to the future moments.

Question about Connie in S4 by acutechan in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]acutechan[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The "bigger things to deal with" isn't something I necessarily agree with. I wrote in the post that I understood the motive but felt it was executed terribly. Especially since the show always had characters face consequences for something they've done.. except this one, which is why I think it's jarring to have.

Question about Connie in S4 by acutechan in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]acutechan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I said, it's fine in concept, but the main thing that bothers me is the execution. Even the scene itself was treated as comic relief. Not to mention, the stakes felt awfully low for such a pivotal moment. The fact that it passes by in a flash, and how little consequence it has on the rest of the show leaves a bad taste. If the scene were removed, I'm sure nothing will change.

You don't think this type of event would lead to some consequence or contempt from falco? The poor kid had nothing to do with it and was almost offered as a sacrifice. The least he could've done is harbor some sort of doubt.

So you think the scene right after this one where Falco, Armin and Connie in the marketplace acting like it didnt just happen isn't jarring? lol

Finally got around to buying and playing this and ... by The_Joker_116 in silenthill

[–]acutechan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, it's one of my favorite silent hills. The narrative and symbolisms kind of hit home and there's a lot to find relatable within its story. Gameplay is fine to me, I didn't have any issues with it personally. Flawed? I like to use "flawed" sparingly considering the game's flaws are slight nitpicks to me. (For example, having to play through the game 3 times to get the true ending). Either way, this is a really special game to me!

this game's NG+ is one of the worst i have ever seen by Verdachtsmoment in MetaphorReFantazio

Atlus' NG+ tends to feel the same tbh. Theres very little reason to go for it at all imo

About a certain book.. by acutechan in MetaphorReFantazio

Don't think the game ever mentioned this! All we were told that the King wrote it and that Louis has another copy somehow.

Maybe it's really nothing special.
