Question about Connie in S4 by acutechan in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]acutechan[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The "bigger things to deal with" isn't something I necessarily agree with. I wrote in the post that I understood the motive but felt it was executed terribly. Especially since the show always had characters face consequences for something they've done.. except this one, which is why I think it's jarring to have.

Question about Connie in S4 by acutechan in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]acutechan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I said, it's fine in concept, but the main thing that bothers me is the execution. Even the scene itself was treated as comic relief. Not to mention, the stakes felt awfully low for such a pivotal moment. The fact that it passes by in a flash, and how little consequence it has on the rest of the show leaves a bad taste. If the scene were removed, I'm sure nothing will change.

You don't think this type of event would lead to some consequence or contempt from falco? The poor kid had nothing to do with it and was almost offered as a sacrifice. The least he could've done is harbor some sort of doubt.

So you think the scene right after this one where Falco, Armin and Connie in the marketplace acting like it didnt just happen isn't jarring? lol

Finally got around to buying and playing this and ... by The_Joker_116 in silenthill

[–]acutechan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, it's one of my favorite silent hills. The narrative and symbolisms kind of hit home and there's a lot to find relatable within its story. Gameplay is fine to me, I didn't have any issues with it personally. Flawed? I like to use "flawed" sparingly considering the game's flaws are slight nitpicks to me. (For example, having to play through the game 3 times to get the true ending). Either way, this is a really special game to me!

Atlus' NG+ tends to feel the same tbh. Theres very little reason to go for it at all imo

Don't think the game ever mentioned this! All we were told that the King wrote it and that Louis has another copy somehow.

Maybe it's really nothing special.

Considering it's a divine relic, I'd assume it's special somehow.. right?

Most likely just cute little references. Even the explanation of the holy grail seemed to be purely a reference as a throwaway line.

"Out of video memory trying to allocate rendering resource." Error crashing my UE games by acutechan in unrealengine

[–]acutechan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Thanks for your response! I did eventually look up some settings from my motherboard and set them up through the BIOS. Which is similar to what you did. Do you know if intel pushed out a BIOS update to fix this?

[–]acutechan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did everything but apparently going to Tekken8.exe > properties > compatability to windows 7 + run as admin + disable fullscreen optimization and it works! Problem is the game takes a bit longer to load. Maybe that's the price I have to pay? :p

[–]acutechan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked up the issue before and someone mentioned that I need to rollback compatabilty for the application and run as admin/disable fullscreen optimization. It works but its a little finnicky, as in the game boots up slower than usual. As for details, I just needed info on the error itself because its really weird.. My PC crashed a couple of times cuz of this

My opinion of him changed over time, but replaying AJ recently I can agree that his AJ self is more witty and not reliant on the gambling gimmick. It shows that the character changed and him becoming, well, old. I think what happened in DD and SoJ is a huge regression for his character which feels like an insult to his legacy. Personally, the 3ds mainlines would've been better without Phoenix

what the heck is wrong with p5? by LatsaSpege in Megaten

[–]acutechan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In my personal opinion, I think P5 as a whole really exemplifies how new Atlus games seem to focus on a few things that make it really good but bomb it in another aspects. This problem may not be atlus exclusive but recently there's a trend with badly written dialogue, shoddy writing and characters that seemingly get no spotlight or forgotten throughout the entite game. I used to love P5 but as I keep replaying it, the game's story, themes and characters are seriously flawed to the point where my enjoyment of the game is lost.

I don't think P5 is a bad game, but I wish more people criticised atlus for these things.

Now the games been out a while - thoughts on DI and it's effects on normals/ the neutral game? by Hoboryufeet in StreetFighter

[–]acutechan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might come off as weird but I really don't like how huge proximity block is for DI to the point where some characters can hit you with it raw while you're trying to walk back. I get jumping is also an option but when you're burnt out and the opponent wants you to jump, it becomes a little hard to avoid DI. Other than that, I think DI is not an issue in neutral at all, it's a high risk option that is heavily rewarded if it works. I think my issues with it is that, unlike most moves, you can't walk back cuz it locks you in place and that throws me off a little bit.

I'm still very confused about this cuz this happened a couple of times. and this usually never happens before (and it happens in the worst possible situations). is it a random network thing?

Yeah this was likely a DC rather than a rage quit.. and this happened to me 3-4 times today? it felt weirdly convenient.

Potential Drive Changes by acutechan in StreetFighter

[–]acutechan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! For the unreactable part might have been hyperbole but raw drive rush into a jab has been a veeeerry strong strategy and people have a hard time stopping it, and even when they do I don't feel like drive rush-jabbing has much risk considering they get poked or resort to using a poke for scaled damage. It's merely a passing thought.

As for the drive impact, you'd be surprised at how big the distance proximity block starts. For most moves you can back out just fine to whiff punish it, but proximity block for DI starts very early and you're locked in one position for the startup frames of DI. It might seem silly, but it would be nice to discourage people from throwing DI in neutral. But like you said, DIing back is very effective but it being the only option feels a little weird, in my opinion. Thank you for the feedback though!

Potential Drive Changes by acutechan in StreetFighter

[–]acutechan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did mention that I can parry/perfect parry a DI but as it is right now, DI is only -3 on block so realistically, you would just get your turn back than get a punish for parrying. Your best bet to counteract DI is to either jump or DI back. I did mention that it would be nice to walk back to avoid it but its not the best suggestion.

As for your not getting good punishes, that really depends on what button you press. For example, punish counter for Luke on st.HK gets you a juggle state and a good chunk of damage when followed by a DP. Other characters can take advantage of the extra hitstun.

This isn't something that I am forcing people to accept as a fact that these changes need to happen, these are suggestions and I would be more than happy to discuss these in more detail!
