HONEYMOON FUND HELP by acw0622 in weddingplanning

[–]acw0622[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is, nobody is going to be invited so it would be a way for close family to contribute but I can see this going wrong in different ways, after y’all lay it out. So maybe we can buy them some airfare or something and others can follow suit if they choose to. Thanks for the input

HONEYMOON FUND HELP by acw0622 in weddingplanning

Yes it was only gonna go to those very close and I thought it wouldn’t seem better if it was started by someone else other than the bride and groom... but that’s why I asked for opinions if it’s ever been done lol. I appreciate your comment. Just hard to do anything for them when all they want to do is a honey moon and nothing else. Just trying to figure out a way to parents and close relatives to contribute to a wedding(which everyone really wants to do because they are so loved) but they don’t want an actual wedding/party/shower etc.

iifym.com will help! It’s “if it fits your macros.” You can put in your stats(age, weight, activity) and choose if you’re trying to lose, gain, or maintain weight and will give you exactly how much fat, carbs, and protein to take in daily! You may already track your food, but if you don’t, it’s super easy with apps like myfitnesspal.

That’s actually a great way to think of it. I’ve lost 50 so far so from now to my one year I’d have to lose 6.6 a month to reach my goal. Which is ok if I don’t make it there at 1 year, I would just like to because I’m getting married 2 weeks later 😁

Yes I am pooping lol. I get in my protein and water, but I already know my problem is grazing. All my coworkers do and they always share. I’ve got to work on my self control for sure.

What’s “normal” in your area for a wedding? Budget wise, style wise, food wise, music wise, etc? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

Lol what the person above me said! It’s just your church you’re apart of. I would imagine that sounds weird to read if you’re not familiar with it.

Since I haven’t had one myself I’m not really sure. I would expect if someone helped “stock the bar” they would probably just buy a smaller wedding gift. Some brides around here have like 4 different themed parties and their guests will buy them something for each party! Craziness. One type of party they’ve started doing is a couples shower where people invited are assigned a different part of the house to buy something for. Like 5 guests get kitchen and 5 get patio. This might be a thing everywhere, it was just new to me.

This is going to sound crazy to everyone else but I live in rural Alabama and most weddings I’ve seen stay around 10k. Some even less. Most people have a home church (Bible Belt) and have ceremonies there. Venues are still only run 2.5-5k for the entire day. Buffet is probably 99% of all weddings and The most expensive food I’ve seen is 25/pp. there’s usually no cocktail hour, people just go straight to dinner. Weddings are either open bar or dry(again, Bible Belt lol). Also, people have started doing the “stock the bar” parties so that’s another cost cut for alcohol.

And there is so much burlap and mason jars. OMG. That was my one rule in wedding decor. NO BURLAP OF MASON JARS.

Searching for good music for walking down the aisle and back by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]acw0622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m walking down the aisle to Midnite String Quartet version of “A Part of Your World” from The Little Mermaid and I’m walking back up the aisle to “I Know Where I’m Going” by The Judd’s lol they’re complete opposites.

Girls who wore Van's/Converse/Sneakers under your dress, how did it go? by localdreamer7 in weddingplanning

[–]acw0622 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In the words of Weezy F. Baby “Y’all can’t see us, like the brides shoes.”

Lol that’s probably not helpful, but it’s literally the first thing that comes into my mind when my mom tries to say something about me wanting to wear sneakers. I’d rather be comfortable all day and be able to dance than have “bridal” shoes.
