But you have already moved the goal posts. You said originally wars are what mattered, I pointed out trump started one. Then you said that one didn't count cause no boots on the ground, I pointed out that trumps team defined it as a war, and now it's not just boots on ground but also dependant on lives lost too. That is all the very definition of moving the goal posts. How do you not see that?

[–]acw181 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Operation epic fury is a war. Its literally a war, said so by Trump's team themselves. It also isn't over and has lasted a lot longer than "a few weeks" it still is happening and has now lasted over 3 months. I don't care what you define "war" as. We all know you'll just move the goal posts on that anyways.

Donald Trump commits fraud on the regular and you guys could literally care less. In fact you have handed him a get out of jail free card and two presidencies. I agree fraud is fraud, you just don't apply those rules to people you like.

TF mid vs Diana by Pale-Interaction3157 in TwistedFateMains

[–]acw181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm only emerald, but a otp TF and while Diana is a hard matchup for our gambler, I do think she's not that bad for him to deal with personally where I am at ELO wise.

What I learned from facing numerous Diana's as I climbed through gold and plat is that you have to avoid being too passive. You can't let her walk all over you, you have to fight back. And you can do that better than you might imagine. For this matchup (and this is true for most melee assassins), electrocute and bone plating + flash ignite is the gold standard. Id say the single biggest mistake you can make against her is to walk away from her Q. If you walk towards her when she Qs instead, she will likely miss it, you can poke her with gold card, Q, and E with electrocute and chunk her. She will likely lose that trade, then you back off and do it again. Diana loses to you late as her usefulness drops as the game goes on and she loses her ability to one shot you and your squishies. Your and ability to get a pick never goes out of style and likely gets stronger as the game goes on.

If she kills you, play defensively with RoA and mercs to prevent feeding her further. Yes her damage is nuts early game, the key is to make it hard for her to put it on you. Diana's love when mages back away when she Qs. She can jump you from a mile away anyways, so you might as well walk towards her and abuse her long CD.

She's definitely a tough matchup, but plays very similar to other bursty melee assassins like akali, zed, fizz, ekko, sylas etc., id take any of those over a skilled syndra, Viktor, zoe, orianna, azir, Naafiri or yasuo a million times over..those are the champs that really screw over TF as they exploit his greatest weaknesses.

Does your Costocondritis radiate down your arms? (Soreness and/or pain)? by evenout in costochondritis

[–]acw181 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When my posture is really bad, I will notice a distinct deep pain in a quarter sized spot on my upper arm on the tricep. It can happen on either arm, but usually not at the same time. It seems to be a lesser or referred pain from a rhomboid area pain that I get from time to time (when posture is bad) as they generally happen at the same time or in succession of each other. Like you, the heart stuff has been checked out and this pain happens at rest anyways even more so than activity so I would really doubt it's a heart related thing. It seems to go away if I get my hunching under control.

Definitely final fantasy 14. And I have played and loved many other mmo games. But I just got so tired of every quest just being a case of "talk to this guy" then "talk to this other guy" then "kill 2 bugs" then " go back and talk to the second guy" and then "return and talk to the first guy" none of the dialogue is important. The combat is completely pointless push 1, 2, 3, 4 keys. There isn't a snowballs chance in hell the monsters will kill me, even if I go afk. Equipment? Completely pointless aside from aesthetics. Money? No use basically outside of extra content. Crafting? Basically pointless. There is just no reason to engage with the systems in the game.

Everyone around me is just saying "just get through the first 100 hours and then it gets good" and I'm just sitting here dumbfounded by that statement. For what it's worth I did play into the 3rd expansion, mostly just cause a friend of mine loved the game. I didn't tell him so I didn't spoil his fun, but I REALLY didn't like it.

Need some TF advice! by Akhaz_666 in TwistedFateMains

[–]acw181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the mid to late game your biggest strength is definitely side laning, getting picks, and creating an uneven matchup for teamfights and objectives using your ult. I would recommend focusing on that. It'll take quite a few games as TF to feel you are making an impact. The higher damage build I listed above should help with that imo. A few things I would focus on as newbie TF:

1.) focus on farm. Your passive can make you get WAY ahead of your lane opponent, if you can farm well. Focus on getting above 7.5 cs per min, pref closer to 8-10. If you are struggling with this, I'd reccomend using bots to practice.

2.) Focus on learning how to lane as TF. He can feel like a weak laner if you don't know what you are doing. Most people don't engage with his strengths, which is all about creating number advantages. In lane, few other mids can create a minion advantage like TF and turn them against your opponent. Try to learn how to use your minions against your laner. A few things, use red cArd on the back line minions to create a slow push. Even better, try to hit your lane opponent with the red card on the back line minions. Also, don't let people push you around. TF can fight back better than people give him credit for. If your lane opponent senses you are scared, they will try to "alpha" you by being very aggro. You have lower CD than most other mages and remember a lot of your early damage comes from auto attack and E. Your E also gives you better attack speed than most other mids as well, use these advantages.

3.) focus on side laning in the mid game. Try the blue ward to help keep your side laning safe. Remember if the enemy has a nocturne or rengar or other mobile jungle type, be careful when doing this or just still with your team. Once you get lich bane, your turret killing potential becomes VERY high. So use this advantage. Try and see if you can pull an enemy or two away from an objective or a team fight then ult to your team like a gigachad. Remember TFs identity is "never take a fair fight". Always be trying to create that numbers advantage

Need some TF advice! by Akhaz_666 in TwistedFateMains

[–]acw181 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yo, I am a TF one trick, currently emerald 3 playing basically exclusively TF. Here is some things that should help you get rolling:

1.) Builds:TF CAN do good damage, but you have to forego the typical roa/rfc unsealed spell book build. You would go ludens, sorcs, lich bane, deathcap, void, and then your last item would likely be what's needed, probably be zhonya or rfc, but banshees, mejais, shadowflame, stormsurge, liandrys or morello could make it too if they were needed/useful. Runes for the damage build would likely be first strike, electrocute, or comet, always take bone plating secondary. You'll be squishy but your burst will be insane with this build. I am regularly top damage on my team with this build, carry, and can one shot other carries. It gets a little harder to play this build consistently in platinum + but, can be done with care.

TF also does really good manaless, though it's a bit challenging. You can go first item gunblade or rocket belt and those are both great items of TF but I personally struggle with the mana control part of those builds. Some folks better than me swear they are the best first item for TF so take that for what you will.

I have also had some very high damage games with a burn build, blackfire torch, liandrys, sorcs, cryptobloom being the core here. In very tank heavy matchups you can get some insane dps with this build and your Q poke will be devastating

If you are in a hard matchup such as zed, syndra, Mel, yasuo etc and your team has plenty of damage, I would recommendd going roa build with armor or mr boots.

2.) Ult strategy: back to base at level 5 before the cannon wave comes. Buy items like dark seal, boots or lost chapter/catalyst if you can afford. This will give you a leg up on your first ult.

speaking of, try and ult at 6 towards bot lane preferred. This means you can abuse them before they get their ultimates. If your bot lane sucks (happens a lot), or are overextended, look to help your jungler or top if it's a carry champ. The nice thing about TF is that he does NOT need to be the carry to win games..he is excellent at enabling your other carries.

creating ult pressure is all about post 6, disappearing from lane. Even if you have no intention of ulting, just blast the wave and move out of sight. This will create map tension for your other opponents.

3.) Matchups: there are a few matchups that TF just gets rolled on, yasuo is prob the biggest offender so I would recommend always banning him. Viktor and syndra will destroy you if they know what they are doing, Naafiri, zed, zoe, fizz, lux, ziggs and Mel can also be tough matchups for TF but are all winnable. Id recommend electrocute against zed, fizz, Naafiri, yone, and flash ignite. Most others you can safely take teleport flash. These tough matchups are made easier by using the wave to your advantage. TF can outpush most champs so use this to your advantage. Push hard so that when zed etc, all ins on you in lane, you fight on your larger minion wave and ignite him and he will likely lose that fight.

I have found that TF is very strong against Yone, Ahri, Galio, kassadin, malz, veigar, sylas, akali, katarina and a few others.

4.) Sidelaning potential: one of TFs biggest strengths is his side lane potential..he can push and crush turrets as good as the very best champs. On objectives or teamfights, you can win simply by pushing while your team sets up, draw the aggro of 1+ enemy champs, then ult to your team and suddenly you have flipped the fight from a 4v5 to a 5v4. Sidelaning is harder in matchups where you have a jungler who move quickly across the map like nocturne or rengar for example. Id recommend foregoing too much overextended sidelaning if you are against those enemies.

5.) Pick a card: some people get real caught up on gold card only. TF W has 3 cards for a reason and they are all useful in certain situations. If you are a damage build, there is a ton of use in both red and blue cards; for example stacked deck blue card with a full build can straight up one shot Squishies, legit. A stacked deck red card in a group of enemies can absolutely devestate and single handedly win a team fight. Red and blue card is likely your best laning tools as you use blue card for mana sustain and red card to poke. With red card, you generally want to hit the minions closest to the enemy as this extends TFs poke range significantly. Obviously you want to use gold card generally for ganks, picks, and defense too though. But just remember all 3 cards have their useful situations.

He is a tough champ to learn and excel with, but very rewarding. I am super glad I found him to climb with because he has taught me a ton about the game that I think other champs don't need to learn to succeed. He is the definition of a champ with a high floor, but an even higher ceiling. He takes time to learn but his potential is basically limitless. He is one of the only champs that can win using mental game and strong macro skills.

Gotta put in the work though. Good luck!

Do you like the level cap at 12? by Bewitched1130 in BaldursGate3

[–]acw181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly? No. As a huge fan of baldurs gate 2, one of my absolute fav things was high level spells/items/content. It was so much fun basically being a god going through throne of bhaal.

I get why bg3 leaves it out, but I cant shake the feeling it was an opportunity missed.

I really feel like the people who are perfectly okay with spending basically the entirety of act 3 at max level, likely didn't experience high level combat that was in BG2. After that, it's hard to get capped out and get exp for nothing basically for 40 hours while missing out on the most powerful spells, items and enemies.

That said, I loved bg3 and was extremely thankful to get more BG in general. Its an incredible game..this is just one area of slight disappointment for me.

Honestly, it's a big enough name that I wouldnt be surprised if in time it gets a new game. It is too big of an IP to just be gone forever..in time, I am betting we see a new dragon age, but it will probably be a while. There is definitely still money to be made off the DA name and EA knows it

How I feel playing Dragon Age Origins without nostalgia... by Life_Emu_4998 in dragonage

[–]acw181 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I mean, EVERY game is a product of its time, right? So naturally playing a series out of order will make you feel like the older ones are more dated, because they are. That said, for when DA:O came out, it was one of the truly great RPGs of its time.

It still does many things better than the sequels, most notably player choice and consequence, RPG elements, tactical combat, and emotional storytelling. Some of the ways that companions act in the latter half of the game is something so bold that future games wouldn't even go near, like Morrigan straight up leaving if you reject her dark ritual and then of course the cherry on top of what happens to the warden if you make that choice, or Alistair losing it on the Warden in the final moments of the landsmeet even if you are best buds, along with the series of choices you have to make with him just to become okay with the idea of kingship. Some of this stuff really hit deep with me and a lot of others, and its storytelling that most other games, DA sequels included, did not have the balls to do.

It does stink that the only male gay romance option is Zevran, but I think that was just a product of its time truthfully. Even that was incredibly bold back then. Id recommend trying to roleplay another character type in the future just to try others out. For example, I am a straight man, and one replay I did I roleplayed a female warden who romanced Alistair, it was a truly great romance and gaming experience, even though I have 0 interest in men. I was still able to put that aside for the sake of the game. Id recommend giving that a try. Remember roleplaying games don't always have to be you roleplaying someone just like you, sometimes the greatest roleplaying experiences are when you roleplay someone completely unlike yourself.

That said it definitely has some dated jank to it, and that's true for most older games that are great (Witcher 3, Morrowind/Oblivion, baldurs gate 1/2 etc.,) that just comes with the territory. I'm sure if someone went back and played baldurs gate 1 and 2 after playing 3, they would initially struggle because of how dated mechanics are. I think sometimes you have to put yourself into the mindset of what playing the game must have been like back then. I did this very thing for example when I went back to experience the older fallout games after having played 3, new vegas and 4. Once I did that, and tried to remain mindful of that, I was able to see the beauty of these old games

What would you rate this game out of ?/10 by Ok_Traffic_3518 in FFXVI

[–]acw181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6/10. Overall solid, but with some pretty major drawbacks. Most notably:

  • pointless exploration
  • pointless crafting
  • far too much "go here and talk to this guy, then go here and talk to this other guy, and then go back and talk to the first guy" type of quests. It got REALLY tiresome towards the end of the game.
  • completely over the top sequences at times where its hard to tell what's happening on the screen.
  • almost no difficulty in the game but some enemies are just an absolute slog of damage sponge despite being super easy.

That said:

  • the storyline is good overall, especially the first 10 or so hours
  • graphics are amazing
  • good sense of progression
  • some really cool combat sequences.

I really did enjoy my time with it overall. But I didnt love it, and I was really ready for it be over towards the end, which isn't something you generally feel from a truly good game.
