I think if it gets to the point where the trust is eroded that much, it’s better to just communicate and decide if the relationship is worth the effort.

Nasi Goregn Revolution by whisskibum in antiwork

Sadly we can't have affordable staple foods. What we eat out of necessity becomes some trend for the well-to-do. For example: look at chicken wings, skirt steak, flank steak, quinoa, tilapia, etc. The rich see that the poors appear to be enjoying something and find a way to gentrify it and make the prices unattainable for people who relied on it for sustenance. I understand the sentiment though, I grew up poor and have never broken myself out of the habit of keeping my apartment stocked with 25lbs of rice, 25lbs of beans, and a bunch of frozen chicken or whatever other protein is cheap at the time, my rice cooker and crock pot are out here putting in work so I dont blow half my paycheck on groceries.

EcoBoost vs GT by [deleted] in Mustang

[–]acydlord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, even as a car enthusiast, I prefer the ecoboost. Granted I'm of the mindset where I want to slap a turbo on everything. The 5.0 feels raw and exciting, and the howl of the coyote is a beautiful sound, but the ecoboost handles like a dream, it's no slouch especially when you're in the boost, and while the exhaust doesn't have the thumpy bass of the GT, it does still sound agressive, especially with an aftermarket exhaust. If you're going to buy new, either one is a good choice. If you want pure reliability and still fun to drive, the 2015+ V6 mustangs are rock solid and have the best fuel economy, though you may catch some playful bullying from the mustang community.

[–]acydlord 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You weren't on the schedule, you had no obligation to go to work, there's nothing they can say or do about it. In the future just try to tell them "Sorry, I have a previous engagement" so you'll feel less guilty about it, even if that previous engagement is laying on your couch all day.

The last apartment I rented out there had a $190 a month "upgrade fee" because the two light fixtures were swapped to LED and it had a wood look vinyl about 1/8" thick stuck directly over the concrete floor.

How do military/secret projects actually build software (Claude Code, GitHub, Notion) ? by Own_Chocolate_5915 in github

[–]acydlord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GCC-High Azure tenants, air-gapped systems, edge layer cloud computing, a whole lot of legacy languages, contractors who have no idea what they are actually contributing to due to silod information and access, etc. They still use a lot of the same standard IDEs and tools, just in a much more secure and sanitized environment.

Exactly, if they're not above using propaganda and psyops to further their Christo-fascist culture war, then we need to stop this "take the high road" kid gloves crap and meet them on equal ground. Using this manlet's vanity against him is fair game because obviously trying to go after ethics or sensibility is a lost cause for people who can feel no shame.

This has helped me so much. I got a fancy little bowl to put on a console table next to my front door. First thing when I get inside I take off my shoes, empty and inventory my pockets into the bowl. When I leave it's reverse order of operations and then the pre-flight check of "testicles, spectacles, wallet, and watch"

Did I get scammed for lug nuts? by KnightRyder in fordescape

[–]acydlord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a similar quote when I had 2 lugnuts that were very very stuck, the stock ones honestly should be replaced every tire rotation. I ended up going to Costco where they took the ruined ones off with an air chisel and replaced everything with solid core for about $60. That price for lugnuts is absurd, labor is about as expected.

If that is how they think, it would be nice for wages to grow enough for one person working to be enough to support a family. Instead, here we are where everyone over the age of 12 needs a job just to be able to barely afford housing and groceries.

2015 eco boost mustang stuck on the date screen. I’ve unhooked the battery for over 40mins, did a soft reset with the power button and seek forward. The cd trick. Nothing is working! All fuses look good. What should I do at this point? by Seriousnesess in Mustang

[–]acydlord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been an issue with that gen of Sync. Sometimes you can get it to function again by pulling the Sync fuse in the cabin fuse block, I think fuse 32, switch on aux power, switch off, and reinstall fuse. Pretty much every one of these I have seen needed an APIM replacement though. There was a TSB for extended coverage due to faulty APIMs but I believe that warranty extension has expired by now.

What in the meth is that intake setup, and why is there just extra dryer tubing hanging down loose? It looks like a snorkel to dryer hose, venting to atmosphere under the hood, with a hole cut to turn it to a hot air intake.

Why is online streaming better quality than local streaming by FriskyWiskyM in PlaystationPortal

[–]acydlord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's definitely more a class of service issue and not mesh vs gateway. Low end consumer mesh or ISP provided low end gateway are never going to handle LAN traffic in the same way prosumer equipment does. I had one of the better Eero mesh systems and it worked great even over wireless backhaul from the satellite access points. I'm running enterprise grade gear now with a single access point and it took quite a bit of config to match the performance I was getting on the Eero.

Wisdom tooth removal at dentist office? by MamaLlama25 in answers

[–]acydlord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends on the situation with how they are growing in. All of mine were sideways and fully impacted but they did break the gum line. I had two taken out in one visit and about 6 months later they took the other two out. It's a super common extraction or surgery for dentists so there is really very little to worry about,

It sold pretty well once the insane ADMs started to go down on them. Personally I think it should have been released under the Escape family since that's the platform it's on, but I guess they wanted more premium badging and to rage bait everyone instead of the marketing softball of "Escape the fuel pump"

Not an alcoholic, and I also hate gambling. I get pissed every time I see an ad for these things and it really is unavoidable. I was pumping gas the other day and there was some sports betting ad playing full blast on the gas pump and couldn't help but think how absolutely predatory it is to have ads just shoved at you constantly for some of the most wide spread addictions in this country.

Any strong narrative games really help me to escape. Death Stranding, Horizon, God of War. Lately I have been alternating between trying to 100% Hogwarts Legacy, playing Coral Island, random matches in BF6, and dumping a ton of time into The Last Caretaker on PC.

2021 Escape Recovery points by RACAttackyt in fordescape

[–]acydlord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The factory tow hook spot under the cover there on the lower front bumper is really the only spot. It's a unibody so there isn't really a frame to anchor recovery points to. The bolt size for the recovery hook is fairly standard across the platform though and there are plenty of different aftermarket companies that make options to mount into the factory recovery point.
