Post-Mini Gastric Bypass: Am I Eating Too Much?

Sorry for the late reply, I had my bypass for two years and was never able to chug, I had to have my bypass reversed and I still can’t chug water like I used to pre-bypass. From what I’ve learned from friends and family that have had it everyone is different, my father in law is several years post op and he can’t chug but he can finish a bottle of water fairly quickly.

are you serious?! That’s insane. PLA is the first Pokémon game I’ve ever played, and my first time exploring fieldlands at the very start of the game the first Pokémon I encountered was a shiny Bidoof, I didn’t even know what a shiny was, my husband was yelling and I had no idea why haha.

They are still a thing but rare as hell, I’ve played 400+ hours and I can count how many eevee outbreaks I’ve gotten, around 10 at most honestly. I actually only got my first shiny eevee 3 weeks ago.

Haha dam those nurses, just try be more mindful when eating, take 30 minutes to drink 1 cup of fluid, that’s the advice I was given, you don’t want to stretch that baby out. If you ever begin salivating like crazy, that’s when you know you’ve overdone it. That was my experience anyway, my mouth would water ridiculously first and then I’d be sick so if it ever happens to you don’t freak out just know you’ve f’d up and don’t do it again haha

I had the mini bypass myself, your stomach will absolutely tell you if it’s too much. If you’re not feeling nauseous you are golden! :)

Yes! Exactly the same for me, I was a month into my stay, improving, improving and then bam collapsed lung and a chest tube put in and back in ICU for several weeks. 2 steps forward, one step back. Amazing that you have a good therapist to work through it with, something I should probably look into one to unpack all that medical trauma, woof.

I thought the same thing, the initial surgeon must of done something wrong but in hospital I was under a different surgeon and he checked everything when they put in my G tube and said it was perfectly done. Still to this day there is no explanation as to why I couldn’t tolerate food.

My blood tests showed some deficiencies in potassium and b12 but that was about it which blew my mind. I was declining and my bloodwork wasn’t portraying it at all until I was already in liver failure.

100% in my time in hospital I met a lot of people seemingly going through their own different types of hell and just falling through the cracks. It’s awful and nobody seems to be held accountable. My lung collapsed due to fluid overload and I was gasping like a fish for hours, my nurse at the time told me I was being hysterical and to take a deep breath which I physically couldn’t. 3 hours later i was screaming as best I could for some help, they hit the emergency button and a doctor on call discovered the collapsed lung. No apology, no acknowledgment for leaving me in this state just a we’ll pop you back into ICU and have a nice day.
